Ya got that right Maggie...try it on dial up....lmao.
What I don't like is the 'unsubstantiated allegations, lies and worse... gossip that they carry over on facebook and twitter. Gossip is always malicious and the product of an idle mind.
Misha...this seems to be common practice amongst trolls....many here have experienced similar, (and much worse) but we ignore it.....all of you coinees should too. Perhaps the same people who disrupt the Ebay boards, also disrupt the Oztion boards?. The MO certainly seems the same.
My point is that this dysfuntional game they play is designed to get a bite.....and indeed that's exactly what it achieves, and ultimately to their victims' detriment, not theirs...hence, replying to their baits is like diving into the jaws of a shark.........
If you say nothing, they achieve nothing other than making themselves look like untrustworthy vindictive louts. A lot has been said about various members here on Ebay and Twitter for instance, but none of it stands up to time....the accusations and malicious gossip tend to prove themselves wrong in the end, ultimately backfiring on the person/s who spread them.
As Maggie points out too...this isn't Oztion or Ebay.....ganging up doesn't wash here, and neither does the old bait and report game...Nobody can get somebody else narp'd or naru'd on this site maliciously.. so there can be no concern over unfair advantage or bias...we don't discriminate, all trolls and troll games are unwelcome here..... Too many of us have been at the receiving end to be naive to their M.O. and their ultimate destructiveness to any community.
That being said, heated debate can sometimes be mistaken for argument, but when insults start appearing, their is no doubt what it has become. It's up to the participants to keep it objective. As Poddy said, to avoid things turning into an argument, it's best to debate the point, not the poster.
Can't you have a posting ID on Oztion?.....that would solve a few problems if you keep it separate from your buying/selling accounts?.
Thanks for that. You have no idea how comforting that is and how much it can mean to me. Frankly I am a bit 'fragile' currently, but thats more to do with the unhealthy environment I'm living and working in. It just isn't my scene and again, stressful and somewhat abusive. Sick of the abuse.
There have been times in the past where I have been alienated in my home town for holding a differing opinion.... and then finding a new community that welcomes and values that diversity. Almost like a political refugee. When marginalised people are welcomed and valued so, they certainly develop a strong allegiance to the new community.... Perhaps stronger and more appreciative than those already there who don't realise how good it actually is. I sure hope new folks here hold the same appreciation for what we now have.
I have a different definition for some words you use. I use the word 'argument' in it's true philosophical meaning. I have the word 'dispute' for what you refer to. Not trying to be pedantic, just explaining the context in which I use and interpret those two words.
That MO of disruption is a problem on the NZ Trademe site where an auto report feature is also abused. The organised pack will delete very useful supportive threads at whim. There was a discussion thread there about it that I added to citing exactly the same thing happens on OZoo. I hope they considered what I told them goes on and take a look to see if it's the usual suspects at play. It's termed cyber bullying. Very insideos.... very destructive.
OZtion.... pfft ... sadly it's the vision of burning bridges I see when looking back on how that was.
Some say nothing worth salvaging, but I know there is some value left behind... some good people that did see what was going on and took a stand when a good friend and I were copping it there.
