It was the selling of this house that gave me my

In 2004 it sold for 3.2 Million.

"Find your style and stick to it."

-Manolo Blahnik

Legendary Spanish fashion designer Manolo Blahnik has certainly earned the authority to give advice about style. Since founding his eponymous line of high-end shoes in the 1970s, Blahnik has become a household name in fashion. In an interview with The Talks in 2018, the designer expressed his distaste for trends, saying, “I like independence. I love the eccentrics.” He went on to encourage everyone to find their own style, have confidence in it, and never let anyone tell you to change it.

The Anti-Ghost Gun Agenda is Distracting From Real Crime Problems

Over the past several days, there’s been a lot of talk about so-called ghost guns. Ghost guns, in reality, are just firearms that are created by individuals who have the necessary materials. These weapons are referred to as “ghosts” due to their lack of traceable serial numbers.

This week, the president came out with new crackdowns against ghost guns. According to Biden, a ban on ghost guns will make it harder for criminals to break the law and carry out attacks against innocent people.

However, as the president frames his anti-ghost gun agenda as a crime-fighting strategy, he’s largely ignoring what really drives crime, according to PJ Media.

What Biden Isn’t Telling Americans About Crime

The president wants Americans to think the root cause of crime is ghost guns that can be supposedly created within half an hour and then distributed at all. In actuality, though, selling ghost guns is actually illegal.

Yet, when Biden was talking about fighting crime with ghost gun bans, he didn’t mention the rise in criminal offenders being let out of jail by Democratic leaders. The president also didn’t mention the reality that many criminals offending with firearms are not doing so with legally purchased or created weapons.

As Democrats rally behind cracking down on ghost guns, they won’t stop letting criminals free from jail or reinstate reasonable bail for dangerous offenders. Taking these measures would do more to cut back on crime than any sort of anti-ghost gun agenda.

Also, if Biden was truly serious about rooting out crime, he’d urge Mayor Eric Adams (D-NY) to rehire the New York City police officers who were fired for not getting COVID vaccines. New York City could use as many officers as possible, due to the crime problems facing the community.

A Backdoor Attempt to Ban Gun Ownership

As many conservatives have already pointed out, the White House’s war on ghost guns is merely part of a long-term plan to crack down on legal gun ownership altogether.

Democrats want to redefine what various parts of firearms are in order to systematically chip away at Second Amendment rights.

Biden himself is on record vowing to “defeat” the National Rifle Association (NRA) and declaring pistols as “weapons of war.” Aside from this, Biden has a decades-long career of being anti-gun and anti-Second Amendment.

Every American must be vigilant as this president and his administration increase their efforts to shred the Second Amendment.

Biden’s Latest Announcement on Ghost Guns Has Exposed Real Problems

Virtually everyone in America can agree that crime in the country has gone up. Yet, conservatives and leftists have very different ideas on the root causes of this uptick in lawlessness.

Conservatives have consistently warned that policies like cutting police funding, “reforming” bail, letting offenders out of jail early, etc., directly tracks with the notable increases in crime across the United States.

Meanwhile, leftists make the gas that new outbursts of crime are all the more reason why America needs even more gun control laws.

Democrats, to this day, have already significantly increased their gun control agenda. During this week alone, Joe Biden announced an altogether crack down on ghost guns.

Yet, his announcement about crimes committed with these weapons sheds light on some serious problems, according to Twitchy.

Biden’s Message to Americans About Ghost Guns

On Monday, the president stood in front of the White House and claimed that any person who breaks the law with a ghost gun can expect to be federally prosecuted.

This announcement came along with Biden holding up a so-called ghost gun and claiming these weapons can be created in 30-minutes time.

Of course, in announcing the crackdown against ghost guns, Biden directly tied this in with the crime crisis. The president ran with the narrative that ghost guns are driving crime across the country, despite this being an untrue claim.

Unfortunately, Biden’s ghost gun announcement shows that Democrats are once again politicizing lawlessness in order to advance their anti-gun agenda.

This past Monday, Biden didn’t mention that many criminals using firearms to commit crimes are using illegally-obtained guns, not ghost guns without serial numbers. The entire presser about ghost guns was ultimately riddled with untrue claims that frequently come from the gun control lobby.

The Root Cause

Biden’s announcement about ghost guns was not received pleasantly by the American people. Many folks stated that if Biden was serious about lowering mass shootings and other crimes, then criminals would be prosecuted and held accountable.

This means not letting offenders out of jail early and not forging bail simply because some offenders can’t pay. Holding criminals accountable also means empowering police officers, not firing them over their personal choice not to take COVID vaccines.

All in all, Biden’s announcement about ghost guns was slammed as a backdoor attack on gun ownership altogether. Cracking down on ghost guns isn’t the first move this president has made against the Second Amendment and it certainly won’t be the last.

6 Health Benefits Of Sleeping Outdoors

Anyone who has ever slept under the stars knows something special about it. There’s something about breathing in the fresh air and feeling the lull of the waves that makes it impossible to resist falling asleep. But did you know that sleeping outdoors can have even more benefits?

According to recent research, spending time in nature can improve your health. And what better way to enjoy the outdoors than spending a night under the stars? Camping is a great way to get all the benefits of sleeping outdoors, and it’s also a fun and affordable activity for families and friends. This blog post will explore some of the health benefits of sleeping outdoors to see why it’s worth planning your next camping trip.

Boosts Metabolism
There’s nothing like spending a few nights under the stars when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep. You get to enjoy the fresh air and peaceful surroundings, but sleeping outdoors can also have some health benefits. One of these is that it can help to boost your metabolism.

Studies have shown that spending time in nature can help increase your metabolic rate because your body is experiencing a broader range of temperatures. When your body adapts to the changing temperature, your metabolic rate increases to keep you warm. If you’re looking for a way to boost your metabolism, sleeping outdoors might be just what you need.

Better And Deeper Sleep
Many people know that getting a good night’s sleep is essential for their overall health, but did you know that sleeping outdoors can help you get better and deeper sleep? Research has shown that exposing yourself to natural light during the day can help regulate your body’s circadian rhythm, and sleeping in a dark, quiet environment can also promote deep, restful sleep.

In addition, the fresh air and gentle breeze of an outdoor sleeping environment can help clear your mind and relax your muscles, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. So if you’re looking for a way to improve your sleep quality, spending a few nights under the stars may be just what you need.

Reduces Stress
Stress is a common problem that can have severe consequences for your health. When you’re stressed, your bodies go into fight-or-flight mode, releasing hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. These hormones can cause various symptoms, including elevated heart rate, increased blood pressure, and trouble sleeping.

Over time, chronic stress can lead to serious health problems like heart disease, obesity, and depression. One way to reduce stress is to sleep outdoors. Studies have shown that spending time in nature can help lower cortisol levels, the stress hormone. In addition, sleeping under the stars can help you disconnect from technology and the hustle and bustle of everyday life, giving you a chance to relax and recharge.

Boosts Immune System
Few things are as refreshing as a good night’s sleep outdoors. In addition to the obvious benefits of fresh air and a change of scenery, sleeping under the stars can also positively affect your health. One of the most critical ways that sleeping outdoors can benefit your health is boosting your immune system.

Studies have shown that spending time in nature can increase white blood cells levels, which help fight off infection. Furthermore, exposure to natural light during the day can help regulate your body’s circadian rhythms, making it easier to get a good night’s sleep. As a result, spending even a small amount of time sleeping outdoors can significantly impact your overall health.

Improves Brain Functions
People may not be aware that sleeping outdoors can also positively impact your brain function. One of the essential functions of sleep is giving the brain a chance to rest and recover from the day’s activities. During sleep, the brain clears out toxins and refreshes neurotransmitters. This process is essential for maintaining cognitive function, memory, and concentration.

A study found that students who camped outdoors for a week had improved performance on tests of attention and working memory when compared to students who did not camp. The researchers believe that the combination of fresh air, sunlight, and physical activity contributed to the cognitive benefits seen in the students.

Improves Heart Health
Your heart is a vital organ, and taking care of it is crucial for your overall health. Sleeping outdoors can help improve your heart health. Sleeping outdoors can help reduce stress and lower blood pressure, which are good for your heart. Additionally, sleeping outdoors can help you get a good night’s sleep, which is vital for your heart health. When you get a good night’s sleep, your body has a chance to repair itself and reduce inflammation, both of which are good for your heart.

Conclusion
If you’re looking for a way to improve your sleep quality and reduce stress levels, spending just one night under the stars may be all you need! Sleeping outdoors has many benefits, including boosting your immune system and improving brain functions. Whether you want to camp out in nature or curl up on the couch with some blankets, these simple tips will help increase your overall health while reducing negative symptoms associated with chronic stress.

Why Is the North Star So Stellarly Important?

Polaris
A typical Northern Hemisphere star trail with Polaris in the center. MICHAEL MOSELLE/FLICKR (CC BY 2.0)
If you ever looked at the night sky in the Northern Hemisphere, you've noticed that gleaming object that the rest of the heavens appears to move around. What you're seeing is Polaris, also known as the North Star, which is approximately 430 light years away from Earth and is part of the constellation Ursa Minor.

The North Star is called that because its location in the night sky is almost directly over the North Pole, according to Rick Fienberg, a Harvard-trained astronomer who now is press officer of the American Astronomical Society.

Polaris Doesn't Rise and It Doesn't Set
"So, if you were to stand at the North Pole — latitude 90 degrees north — at night and look straight up, you'd see Polaris directly overhead," Fienberg says via email. "From other latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere, if you face due north at night and look the same angle above the horizon as your latitude (for example, look about halfway up – 45 degrees – if you live in Portland, Oregon, at latitude 45 degrees north), you'll see Polaris shining there."

Polaris is attention-getting, because unlike all the other stars in the sky, Polaris is in the same location every night from dusk to dawn, neither rising nor setting, according to Fienberg. Its looming presence leads some people to think of it, mistakenly, as the brightest star in the sky (it's actually the 48th brightest). Even so, it's about 2,500 times as luminous as our sun, because it's a massive supergiant with a diameter nearly 40 times larger than the sun and five times the mass. But Polaris also happens to be far away for a star that's visible with the naked eye, which reduces its brightness.

Who First Found the North Star?
Who discovered the North Star? That's a complicated question. Ancient Egyptian astronomers in the Old Kingdom, between 4,700 and 4,100 years ago, had a North Star, which they symbolically represented with a female hippopotamus, according to Giulio Magli's book "Architecture, Astronomy and Sacred Landscape in Ancient Egypt." But it wasn't Polaris.

That's because what humans perceive as the North Star changed over time. "If you picture a line connecting Earth's North and South Poles as the axis around which Earth rotates, that axis is slowly moving in its own circle," explains Christopher Palma, a former teaching professor in astronomy who currently is associate dean of the Eberly College of Science at Penn State University, in an email. "Often, this is compared to what happens when a top or a spinning coin start to 'wobble' before falling over on their side. We say that Earth's North Pole is 'precessing,' that is, the line that goes from the North Pole to the South Pole traces out a circle with a period of 26,000 years."

As a result, "over very long time periods (more than a few thousand years), the North Pole moves with respect to the stars," Palma continues. "So thousands of years ago, people on Earth saw the star Thuban in [the constellation] Draco appear due north, instead of Polaris."

The North Star in Navigation
Polaris seems to have been first charted by the astronomer Claudius Ptolemy, who lived from about 85 to 165 B.C.E. The star's location close to the celestial North Pole eventually became useful to navigators.

"At night, in the Northern Hemisphere, if you can see Polaris you can always tell which way is north (and, by extension, which ways are south, east and west)," Fienberg says. "It's true now, it's been true for hundreds of years (including during the Age of Exploration in the 15th through 17th centuries), and it'll be true for hundreds more years. You can also tell your latitude, since the angle from the horizon to Polaris is the same as your latitude (to within a degree, anyway). Once you travel south of the equator, though, Polaris drops below the horizon, so it's no longer useful as a navigation aid."

Additionally, a navigator using Polaris has to take into account that the star isn't precisely over the North Pole but instead has an offset of 39 arc-minutes, explains Rich Schuler, a lab manager and adjunct faculty member who teaches astronomy at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, in an email interview. (He's author of this 2002 primer on the North Star in Scientific American.) That corresponds to an error of 44.7 miles (72 kilometers), he says.

Here's Why the North Star Twinkles
One of the other things that's intriguing about Polaris is that it's what astronomers refer to as a Cepheid Variable star. "This star pulsates because it is in a state that is unstable," says Palma. "It will swell up, and when it does, an outer layer of the star becomes transparent, which then makes the star cool off. As a result of it cooling off, it will shrink until it becomes opaque again, which causes it to heat up and swell again. It will do this over and over again, pulsating in and out, which causes its brightness to fluctuate."

And although you can't tell when you gaze at Polaris in the night sky, it's actually part of a triple star system. "The two fainter stars (Polaris Ab and B) do not vary in brightness because they are on the 'main sequence,' or are generating energy by fusing hydrogen nuclei into helium nuclei only in the core of the star," Schuler explains.

Polaris won't be the North Star forever. "If you look at the 14,000 C.E. point, you'll see a star that's much, much brighter than Polaris but farther from the circle," Fienberg says. "That's Vega, which our descendants some 12,000 years from now (if humans are still around) will consider their North Star."

Now That's Interesting
As Fienberg explains, "It's just a coincidence that at this point in Earth's history the north-facing end of the axis happens to point almost directly at a bright naked-eye star. The same is not currently true for the south-facing end of the axis – in other words, there is no South Star."

Why the term 'genocide' matters
in Ukraine war?

WASHINGTON (AP) — When President Joe Biden declares Russia's Ukraine war "genocide," it isn't just another strong word.

Calling a campaign that's aimed at wiping out a targeted group "genocide" not only increases pressure on a country to act, it can oblige it to. That's partly because of a genocide treaty approved by the U.N. General Assembly after World War II, signed by the United States and more than 150 other nations.

The convention was the work of, among others, a Polish Jew whose family was murdered by Nazi Germany and its accomplices. The advocates pushed for something that would make the world not just condemn but actually prevent and ensure prosecution for future genocides.

In comments Tuesday, Biden accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to "wipe out the idea of even being a Ukrainian." Other world leaders have not gone as far. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said Russia's behavior in Ukraine "doesn't look far short of genocide," but the U.K. has not officially used the term, saying only a court can make such a designation.

A look at what's involved in that decision, and what it means when a world leader declares a genocide:

WHAT DOES 'GENOCIDE' MEAN?
It's a surprisingly modern word for an ancient crime. A Jewish lawyer from Poland, Raphael Lemkin, coined it at the height of World War II and the Holocaust. Lemkin wanted a word to describe what Nazi Germany was then doing to Europe's Jews, and what Turkey had done to Armenians in the 1910s: killing members of a targeted group of people, and ruthlessly working to eradicate their cultures.

Lemkin paired "geno," a Greek word meaning race, and "cide," a Latin word meaning kill. Lemkin dedicated his life to having genocide recognized and criminalized.

In 1948, after Adolf Hitler and his accomplices systematically murdered 6 million Jews in Europe, the U.N. General Assembly approved the Convention on the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide.

WHAT'S THE LEGAL DEFINITION?
Under the genocide convention, the crime is trying to destroy a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, in part or in whole.

That includes mass killings, but also actions including forced sterilization, abuse that inflicts serious harm or mental suffering, or wrenching children of a targeted group away to be raised by others.

IS RUSSIA COMMITTING GENOCIDE IN UKRAINE?
The case may hang in part on Putin's own words.

Russian forces are widely accused of carrying out wholesale abuses of Ukraine's civilians, including mass killings.

Those would be war crimes. But do they amount to genocide?

It's all about intent, argues Bohdan Vitvitsky, a former U.S. federal prosecutor and former special adviser to Ukraine's prosecutor general.

"Any attempt to determine whether the crimes committed by Russian troops in Ukraine are driven by genocidal intent must necessarily focus on the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin," Vitvisky wrote for the Atlantic Council think tank this week.

Putin long has denied any standing for Ukraine to exist as a separate nation, or Ukrainians as a separate people. He cites history, when Ukraine was part of the Russian empire, and later of the Soviet Union.

In a long essay last year, "On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians," Putin made clear the depth of his determination on the matter. He called the modern border dividing Russia and Ukraine "our great common misfortune and tragedy."

Putin and Russian state media falsely call Ukrainian leaders "Nazis" and "drug addicts." Putin has called his military campaign in Ukraine one of de-Nazification.

Gissou Nia, a human-rights lawyer who worked on war crime trials at the Hague, points to two alleged acts by Russia in Ukraine as also possibly showing intent of genocide: Reports of deportation of thousands of Ukrainian children to Russia, and an account, from Ukraine's government, of Russian soldiers telling 25 detained women and girls in Bucha that the Russians aimed to rape them to the point that they never bear any Ukrainian children.

WHY DOES IT MATTER IF WORLD LEADERS USE "GENOCIDE" TO DESCRIBE RUSSIA'S ACTIONS?
Embedded in the genocide convention is an obligation that the U.S. and other signers of the treaty have treated warily — if they acknowledge a genocide is occurring, they're committed to ensuring investigation and prosecution, at the least.

People and countries committing genocide "shall be punished," the treaty declares, seeking to crush any wiggle room.

U.S. leaders for decades dodged using the word "genocide" to avoid increasing the pressure on them to act as mass killings targeted classes of people or ethnic groups in Cambodia, Bosnia, Iraq, Rwanda and elsewhere.

Regretting his failure to do more to stop the killing of 800,000 ethnic Tutsis by Hutus in Rwanda in 1994, Bill Clinton in June 1999 became the first U.S. president to recognize an act of genocide as it was playing out, saying Serb forces carrying out a deadly campaign against ethnic Albanians in Kosovo were attempting genocide.

NATO intervened, lobbing 78 days of airstrikes that forced Serbian fighters' withdrawal from Kosovo. An international tribunal charged Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic with war crimes, although Milosevic died before his trial concluded.

Starting in 2005, world also leaders embraced – in principle – responsibility for collective action to stop genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Atrocities and targeted campaigns against groups continue around the world, however, and the so-called responsibility to protect is seldom invoked.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE U.S. DOES DECLARE RUSSIAN ACTIONS TO BE GENOCIDE?
U.S. leaders long have feared that acknowledging genocide would require them to intervene, even to send in troops, with all the risks, costs and political backlash that would entail. It's been a main reason leaders limit themselves to angry statements and humanitarian aid.

Biden is adamant the U.S. will not use its own military to confront Russian forces on behalf of Ukraine. Doing so would risk World War III, he says.

He and allies in Europe and elsewhere already are intervening by sanctioning Russia and by sending weapons and other support to Ukraine for its defense.

Biden and other Western leaders also have called for war crimes trials. The International Criminal Court already has started an investigation. But longstanding U.S. opposition to the International Criminal Court, over worries that U.S. troops could face prosecution there one day, complicates such prosecutions. So can Russia's veto power on the U.N. Security Council. And practically speaking, bringing Putin before a court is a long shot.

In the past, Americans' opposition to entanglement in foreign wars also has helped discourage U.S. leaders from doing more to stop possible acts of genocide.

But Russia's invasion of a neighboring country and brutality against Ukraine's people have angered Americans in a way that genocidal campaigns in Cambodia, Kurdish areas of Iraq and elsewhere did not.

A recent poll by the Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that 40% of people in America believe the U.S. should have a "major role" in ending Russia's invasion. Just 13% think the U.S. shouldn't be involved at all.

The Remarkable Unpopularity
of the Democrats
Joe Biden’s abysmal record weighs like
a lead weight on Democrats’ election chances.

What is the Democrat Party thinking? This question has been raised not only by conservatives but by many who see themselves as politically centrist or independent. What they are witnessing in the Democrat leadership is significant cognitive dissonance when it comes to the party’s recent policy stances.

The cognitive dissonance has been especially apparent in the Democrats’ decision to disingenuously attack Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law with the lie “Don’t Say Gay.” Have they not learned their lesson from Virginia’s gubernatorial election last year? Attacking parents’ right to decide what’s best for their children, particularly when it comes to (sex) education, is not a winning recipe. But the party of the donkey has chosen to double down on dumb.

Democrats have essentially branded themselves the party of the woke radicals, embracing the transgender agenda as well as the racist and anti-American critical race theory ideology. Parents don’t want their children raised to embrace a Marxist racialized worldview, where they are taught to hate white people and hate America.

Besides, as James Carville so memorably quipped in 1992, “It’s the economy, stupid.” Voters of every stripe are feeling the impact of Joe Biden’s policies that have sent inflation to a 40-year high, even as the economy attempts to pull itself out of the pandemic-excused over-the-top government lockdowns and restrictions. Democrat-controlled states held onto their emergency power grabs for way too long, to the point of creating COVID fatigue among their own voters.

Biden’s anti-fossil fuel agenda, which is the direct cause of the current high prices at the pump, has also turned off Americans. And then Americans struggling to pay the higher prices for nearly everything are told by Biden’s transportation secretary to go buy an electric vehicle as a solution to higher gas prices. How out of touch with average Americans can you get?

Evidence of Democrats’ political malaise came with New Jersey’s gubernatorial election, in which Democrat Governor Phill Murphy squeaked out a victory in a state that Biden had won the year prior by 12 points. One of the leading issues that pushed many Democrats to cast their vote for Republican Jack Ciattarelli was directly related to Murphy’s COVID-related mandates, specifically the mask mandates. One longtime Democrat citizen who still views herself as a liberal voted for Ciattarelli, explaining, “Democrats have left me so disillusioned.”

Then there’s Biden’s de facto policy of open borders, which has set new records for the millions of illegal immigrants who have streamed across the U.S. southern border. You know it’s bad when even other Democrats (like several in the border state of Texas) are calling for Biden to do something to stop the flow. Even more troubling for Democrats are the number of Hispanics who are leaving the party for the Republicans, a 30-point swing since 2018, according to a recent poll. And the lack of illegal immigration control is a big reason behind this shift.

Maybe the answer to the very first question in this article is that Democrats have decided to blindly follow their bumbling leader who has been underwater in the polls for so long he’s growing gills, and to simply sink or swim with him. The real answer is that their bumbling “leader” is really just following the radicals, and they’re all politically drowning for it. Of course, Republicans shouldn’t be counting their chickens before they hatch, and as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) warned, “You can’t nominate somebody who’s just sort of unacceptable to a broader group of people and win.”

I do half that amount.
People in the house like it that way.

It's courtesy.
Try it. You won't get your ass kicked if you don't.

Pink Floyd reunite for Ukraine protest song

Pink Floyd have reunited to record their first new material in 28 years, a protest song against the Ukraine war.

Hey Hey, Rise Up! features David Gilmour and Nick Mason alongside long-time Floyd bassist Guy Pratt and Nitin Sawhney on keyboards.

But the song is built around a spine-tingling refrain from Ukrainian singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk of the band Boombox.

Gilmour says the song is a show of "anger at a superpower invading a peaceful nation".

But it is also intended as a morale booster for the people of Ukraine, and a call "for peace".

Work on the song began a couple of weeks ago, when Gilmour was shown Khlyvnyuk's Instagram feed. The singer had posted footage of himself in in Kyiv's Sofiyskaya Square, fully armed and ready to fight the Russian invasion.

Facing the camera, Khlyvnyuk sang The Red Viburnum In The Meadow, a protest song written during the first world war, which has become a rallying cry in Ukraine over last six weeks.

"It just struck me that, as it is a capella, one could turn this into a beautiful song," Gilmour told BBC 6 Music's Matt Everitt.

By coincidence, Gilmour had performed live with BoomBox in 2015, at a London benefit gig for the Belarus Free Theatre - and he contacted Khlyvnyuk to seek permission.

"I spoke to him, actually, from his hospital bed, where he had a pretty minor injury from a mortar," the star said. "So he's right there on the front line.

"I played him a little bit of the song down the phone line and he gave me his blessing."

The song was released at midnight on Friday, with proceeds going to humanitarian relief.

The song carries special significance for Gilmour, as his daughter-in-law is the Ukrainian-born artist Janina Pedan.

He told the BBC she had inspired the artwork for the single, which contains the national flower of Ukraine, the sunflower.

"My daughter-in-law told us the story of a woman at the beginning of this conflict, giving sunflower seeds to Russian soldiers and saying that she hoped that sunflowers would sprout where they died."

Gilmour said he found the "powerlessness of the West" in the face of Russian aggression "infuriating" but said he supported the ongoing sanctions against the country.

"It's a shame that the people who suffer most are the ordinary people of Russia - but that is the way the sanctions work. It helps to create a discontent in that country which will hopefully, at some point, create some sort of change of regime."

Asked how he felt about the UK government's response to the crisis, he expressed frustration at the bureaucracy facing Ukrainian refugees who want to settle here.

"A lot of Europe is saying 'welcome' and our [government] is saying, 'you need to get onto a computer and fill in forms'.

"My view would be to open the doors and sort of paperwork out later. But government doesn't seem to be following that way of thinking."

Roger Waters does not feature on the new recording - he left the band in 1985 and has only occasionally performed with them since, such as at the Live 8 concert in 2005.
