Leftist Troll Gets Her Own Medicine
Good.
APRIL 25, 2022

Taylor Lorenz, a horrible human being and online Stalinist, makes a career out of doxxing people. Now the tables are turned. Gregg Gutfeld is pleased.

Gutfeld: If you watched our show last night, you know that one of our producers, Gene Nelson, was stuck in the elevator for hours, even as we taped the show.

Well, the fire department actually freed Gene, and he was taken to a local hospital where they examined his knee, which was apparently strained when the elevator plunged temporarily.

We’re happy he’s well, though, and we wish him luck in his future career endeavors. Yes, we fired him. He missed a show, and that’s how it goes.

Come on, I’m running a TV show here, not a friggin’ IHOP. I just wish I had a chance to meet him first. So speaking of trapped, should we talk about Taylor Lorenz? You probably don’t know her, but whatever. She was a former dishonest reporter for The New York Times, as if that narrows things down.

Who made her living creeping around the web, trying to find people to cancel for saying inappropriate stuff. She’s a real jerk. She then became a dishonest reporter for The Washington Post to do the same thing. It’s the perk of being a lefty: Screwing up only gets you a better job somewhere else. But in between being a slimy slug, she went on MSNBC to talk about how she was a victim of online mobbery.

TAYLOR LORENZ: It’s completely overwhelming. It’s horrifying, and it’s not just me, either. You know, they immediately dox you and go after your family members. They try and look up everyone who’s ever been associated with you. You feel like any little piece of information that gets out on you will be used by the worst people on the internet to destroy your life. And it’s so isolating. It’s horrifying. I’m so sorry. It’s overwhelming. It’s really hard.”

It really is. There’s nothing funny about attempting to make people’s lives unbearable through online mobbery. Well, unless it happens to someone who makes their living making people’s lives unbearable through online mobbery, then it’s funnier than Tyrus trying on clothes at Lululemon. See, Lorenz was a breathless online cop who once eavesdropped on an online discussion and falsely accused a tech executive of using a slur. After she was caught, Lorenz bravely locked her account.

Meanwhile, like an evil Santa Claus, she kept a blog of names of people who said things she deemed problematic. She was her own cancel culture machine, a goon, a thug, a bully, and when it suited her, a victim.

But now, just weeks after she claimed to have severe PTSD — severe PTSD — over being doxxed, which she claims was due to her gender, she’s back to her old tricks, contacting friends and family of the woman behind the popular “Libs of Tik Tok” Twitter account.

Lorenz claims the woman’s posts were anti-gay and inciting outrage, even though the users posted the content themselves, true, the account shows unedited, already public videos of ranty lefties in all their green-haired glory.

But Lorenz was so obsessed she even went after someone with a similar name, which is like me making drug jokes about “Pat Timpf.” The Washington Post ran her piece, complete with the TikTok lady’s name and a link to the listing of her professional real estate license with her address. That’s doxxing by definition…

As for Lorenz, she’s worked at big-name, powerful media companies. She’s got power and clout. She can ruin you just by accusing you of saying something and then amplifying it. Even if she’s 100% wrong, she’ll never apologize. You’re just collateral damage.

Democrats Starting To Abandon Biden
No surprise there.
APRIL 25, 2022

Joe Biden is an albatross. Democrats know it. Even the young, a reliably dumb Democrat constituency, are starting to leave his camp. Tucker Carlson knows the score here.

Carlson: If you’ve seen video of Joe Biden mumbling in public recently — and we bet you have — there’s probably not anything we could tell you tonight that’s going to surprise you.

Would you be shocked to learn that Joe Biden recently got lost in his own bedroom? That he introduced a table lamp as his wife? That he bragged to the Japanese prime minister about saving Marie Antoinette’s life during a cavalry charge in the Crimean War? Probably not. Now, we can’t say that any of these things actually happened, but they could have. They’re entirely plausible and if you think that’s a mean thing to say, don’t worry, Joe Biden will never know.

At this point, other people are not real to Joe Biden. He lives in a world of ghosts and fog shrouded memories, but you knew that because you’ve seen the tape. Maybe the only thing that would surprise you about Joe Biden, 15 months into his presidency, is learning that he plans to run for reelection. Now, that would be outlandish, impossible really, ridiculous.

Where Joe Biden is somehow able to stay in the White House, he would be 86 years old by the end of his second term. Do the math on that. Even now, at 79, past the life expectancy of the average American man, Joe Biden can barely speak English and that is not a trend that will improve with time.

What kind of president would Joe Biden be by the year 2028? You shudder to think about that, though you can bet that more Botox and hair plugs would not improve him. The whole idea is grotesque. Weekend at Bernie’s White House Edition. It’s an insult to the principle of self-government, but that doesn’t mean it’s not coming. According to a piece this week in The Hill newspaper, Joe Biden has confided in his old boss, Barack Obama, that he does in fact plan to run for reelection.

Biden believes he is “the only one who can beat Donald Trump,” which, if nothing else, suggests that Joe Biden believes he beat Donald Trump the first time. “Hey, guys, I got 81 million votes. Maybe I’ll get 500 million next time.” So how did Barack Obama respond to that? Well, The Hill newspaper didn’t say. We do know that earlier this month, Obama referred to Joe Biden as “vice president,” so you can guess.

Obama never hid the fact that he didn’t like or respect Joe Biden. Obama thought Biden was fake and incompetent, old, White and annoying, and that was 10 years ago. So, you can imagine how Obama feels about the prospect of an 86-year-old President Joe Biden. Now, Michelle Obama, by contrast, will have just turned 60 by the time the next presidential election rolls around. So clearly it’s her turn.

It’s not just Obama who feels this way, a lot of Democrats agree. Just for the sake of amusement this morning we tried to find a Democratic Party official who be willing to go on the record to endorse a second Joe Biden candidacy and we couldn’t find a single one. Now, keep in mind, these are the same people who are delighted to tell you that you can change your biological sex just by wishing it so, like Dorothy clicking her heels at Oz. Boom, you’re transgender now.

They consider that believable. Yet they will not tell you that Joe Biden should be president again. A Biden reelection campaign is just too absurd, even for them. It strains credulity past the breaking point. Joe Biden? Come on. That’s the consensus in Washington tonight and for once it is correct. So given that, now you know what is going on with the news media. Joe Biden’s most loyal constituency has turned on him with a vengeance. After getting the mannequin elected, the White House press corps is telling you night after night he’s a loser. Why are they saying this? Because they don’t want to run again. They know he will lose.

Emergency Car Toilets for When You Gotta Go Right Now

Where there is No Bathroom
There are occasions where there are no options. There’s nowhere in sight where there’s an obscured area of trees, bushes, or anything else to keep your activity from prying eyes. Complicating matters is that the conditions of any high concentration of traffic means a lot of people will be looking and watching.

Report: Twitter is set to accept Elon Musk's $43 billion offer to buy the platform
April 25, 2022

It looks like Elon Musk will finally own Twitter.

Reuters reported that Twitter is poised to agree to sell to Musk for what the Tesla and SpaceX CEO called his “best and final” offer of $43 billion.

Musk’s offer includes purchasing outstanding shares of Twitter stock for $54.20. Twitter is expected to announce an agreement to the deal on Monday, once its board has met to formally recommend the transaction to the company’s shareholders.

However, it does remain possible that the deal could collapse at the last minute.

Musk is reportedly negotiating to buy Twitter in a personal capacity. None of the other companies under his control are involved in the deal.

Twitter has been unable to secure a “go-shop” provision under its agreement with Musk that would allow the company to solicit other bids once the deal with Musk is signed, but Twitter would still be allowed to accept offers from other parties by paying Musk a break-up fee for breaking the agreement.

Trump Destroys Biden At Rally: America Being Led By a Guy Who Takes Orders From the Easter Bunny
APRIL 25, 2022

In what can only be described as a classic own, Donald Trump slammed President Biden during his latest rally, mocking the President’s cognitive abilities and the recent episode at the White House where Biden was redirected by the White House Easter Bunny while being questioned by reporters.

Trump made the comments in a speech at an Ohio rally on Saturday to support his chosen candidate for the state’s contentious U.S. Senate race, J.D. Vance.

Vance came to prominence as the author of Hillbilly Elegy, which was also made into an award-winning film.

In his comments, the former President referenced several viral moments involving Biden of late which have called into question his fitness as leader of the free world.

“We’ve never had anything like this and we have a president right now sadly, who has absolutely no idea what the hell is happening,” Trump said.

“Our country’s going to hell,” he continued. “He’s shaking hands with the air. He’s walking around somewhat bewildered — I’d say it’s no good — and taking orders from the Easter Bunny.”

Biden and the Easter Bunny
Trump’s reference to President Biden and the Easter Bunny is a callback to last week when a staffer dressed in full costume whisked the Commander-in-Chief away as he began answering reporter questions during the traditional White House Easter Egg Roll.

“The Easter Bunny was a political operative,” Trump told the crowd. “He did a good job, that guy. We should hire that guy.”

The bunny was actually a woman, reportedly turning out to be White House Director of Message Planning Meghan Hays.

The other Trump comment regarding Biden shaking hands appears to be referencing a new trend in which the President turns to the crowd after a speech and puts his hand out in a gesture most would deduce was an attempt at a handshake.

We say ‘most’ people’ because fact-checkers have informed us that no, despite the criticism involving what he appears to be doing, President Biden wasn’t actually shaking hands with the air.

Trump’s Questionable Endorsement
When not ribbing President Biden about being ordered around by the Easter Bunny, Trump was praising his endorsed candidate in current populist firebrand J.D. Vance.

Trump’s praise of Vance seems to center around the Republican’s odds of winning the seat.

“I studied this very closely,” he told the crowd of supporters. “I like a lot of the other people in the race. I liked them a lot. But we have to pick the one that’s going to win. This guy is tough as hell. He’s going win.”

Some have questioned Trump’s decision, however, especially considering comments have surfaced in which Vance openly fretted in 2016 that Trump was either “a cynical a**hole” or “America’s Hitler.”

“I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a**hole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler,” Vance said in a message to former roommate and current Georgia Representative, Democrat Josh McLaurin.

In his speech, Trump acknowledged that Vance had “said some bad s*** about me.”

Still, he justified his endorsement by saying just about everybody at one point or another has not taken kindly to him.

“He’s a guy that said some bad s*** about me, he did,” Trump said. “But, you know what? Every one of the others did also.”

“[In] fact, if I went by that standard, I don’t think I would have ever endorsed anybody in the country,” he surmised.

Harsh, but fair.

7 of History’s Most Significant Archaeological Discoveries

Some of the world’s biggest archaeological discoveries not only changed the way we interpret our past but also solved historical mysteries. In addition to making front-page headlines around the world, many discoveries sparked cultural fads. Not every archaeological dig will yield a cache of priceless jewels or one-of-a-kind artifacts, but the finds mentioned below stand out as exceptional.

"What people like is honesty... My film career took off once I came out."

-Ian McKellen

No male actor has won more Olivier Awards — the highest honor in British theater — than seven-time recipient Sir Ian McKellen. The 82-year-old has also anchored such popular big-screen franchises as X-Men, The Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit, meaning McKellen’s films have earned more than $10 billion at the worldwide box office.

He attributes a good deal of this international success to “the best thing I ever did”: publicly coming out as a gay man during a 1988 BBC radio interview. Afterward, McKellen felt more comfortable in his own skin, and that freedom led to better work. When reflecting on the life-changing announcement, McKellen concluded that people respond to authenticity. Being true to yourself is the first step toward connecting with others.

NY Post: Biden Showing Signs of Decline, Media Stay Oblivious
April 25, 2022

The New York Post said that everybody but mainstream media seems to realize that President Joe Biden is showing signs of decline. The outlet listed a number of incidents where Biden seemed to lose grip of the current situation. In many cases, the president seemed to ramble and lose his train of thought.

The Post reported that during last week’s presser, reporters asked the President if he is considering delaying the lifting of Title 42.

The controversial order is a Trump-era measure that justifies turning away illegal migrants at the border for COVID health reasons. The President gave a rambling answer, which is both incoherent and incomprehensible.

“First of all, there’s gonna be an appeal by the Justice Department. Because as a matter of principle, we want to be able to be in a position where if, in fact, it is strongly concluded by the scientists that we need Title 42 that we’d be able to do that. But there has been no decision on extending Title 42.”

Scientists? What scientists?? The answer Biden gave turned out as a reply against the lifting of COVID mask mandates in public transportation.

The mistaken reply is only one possible proof that Biden is showing signs of decline. If the administration wants to push mask mandates in transportation, shouldn’t they also have no problem retaining Title 42?

Unfortunately, the President likely has no idea which one he talked about during the time. And all of the media in attendance had a front-row seat to the proceedings.

Biden’s Signs of Decline Continues
Last Friday, Biden also tried to comment on Florida’s recently signed Parental Rights in Education law. “There’s nothing conservative about deciding you’re going to throw Disney out of its present posture because Mickey Mouse?

In fact, do you think we should be not be able to say, you know, ‘gay’? I mean, what’s going on here?”. Don’t bother asking the New York Post or this outlet what Biden just said. We have no idea.  More importantly, we’re more worried about his health than his take on Florida’s state laws.

On another occasion, a reporter asked Biden about Afghanistan the Monday after Easter. Just as he was about to reply, a White House staffer in an Easter Bunny costume showed up.

She waved her arms in the President’s face and ushered him to a different area. Is this how they distract the President now? More importantly, who is deciding on what Biden can say or not say?

Note that even on previous occasions, Biden often mentions that he’s only allowed to say certain things. He also notes how many questions he can take and to which reporters.

By the way, the Easter Bunny cosplayer turned out to be Meghan Hays, White House director of message planning.

Media Focused on Trump’s Alleged Signs of Decline During His Tenure
During the term of former President Donald Trump, the media often had a field day checking into the then-president’s mental capacity.

CNN, in particular, relished inviting non-experts to talk about Trump’s seeming signs of decline. CNN’s “Reliable Sources” had actor Robert De Niro talk about Trump’s state of mind.

The network also touted medical opinions from non-medical sources such as Trump opponent Anthony Scaramucci. MSNBC also dispatched Harvard psychologist Dr. Lance Dodes to check into Trump’s mind when he joked about buying Greenland from Denmark.

Now, with Biden obviously showing alarming signs of decline, the media hardly bats an eyelash. Why is this double standard in effect?

“This is the sort of gross, lowest-common-denominator politics that drive people away from public life. If Republicans have some sort of proof that Biden is declining, they should bring it forward. If they don’t, they should stop doing what they’re doing. Immediately.”

'WTF Did I just Watch?': 18 of the Craziest Leftists 'Libs Of Tik Tok' Exposed
APRIL 22, 2022

Since the Washington Posts' technology reporter Taylor Lorenz openly doxxed the user behind the then-anonymous "Libs of Tik Tok" Twitter account, leftists have remained largely mum on the actual content the page was sharing, instead accusing Chaya Raichik of promoting attacks on the LGBTQ community...while never actually addressing the bizarre, disturbing, and often alarming videos she'd brought to light.

Here are just a few of the craziest radical nut jobs that LibsOfTikTok has exposed – simply by sharing videos they had already uploaded to social media themselves.

3 Signs Democrats Are About To Lose Everything
April 25, 2022

According to polling, election experts, and Democratic messaging, Republicans will most likely retake the House and Senate.

First: Experts
David Wasserman, a redistricting expert and senior editor of the Cook Political Report, believes the GOP will have an enormous edge in midterm elections based on his experience. Democrats consider 19 House seats to be toss-up districts. Many of these areas are in the Rust Belt, such as Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. This part of the country has been damaged by President Biden’s 40-year high inflation and fentanyl flooding through the southern border.

Second: Polling
The GOP has a 10-point lead in polling. On Thursday, Republicans were favored by nine points in generic ballot polling (48 percent to 39 percent). The generic ballot is significant because it reflects congressional Republicans’ popularity across the country regardless of who becomes the party’s nominee.

Generic polling is especially crucial in Senate elections, where the campaigns are national in scope and attract widespread media attention. According to recent polling of individual Senate races, Republicans are doing really well in swing states like Arizona, New Hampshire, Georgia, and Nevada.

Republicans only need to pick up one seat to retake the Senate. While they have more Senate seats to protect than Democrats, Republicans also have the benefit of running against an unpopular president. Biden’s national approval rating in April was 33 percent. According to additional polling, 49.9 percent of Americans strongly disapprove of the president, while just 20 percent approve strongly.

Third: Democrat Rhetoric
Another reason why Republicans may win in November is due to the Democrat’s rhetoric. The political tide has turned against the Democratic establishment and its allies in Washington, DC, according to numerous reports from the Associated Press. “Biden’s election-year challenge: Blame GOP for nation’s ills,” read the headline of an AP story published on Friday.

The economy will not likely recover before the midterms. According to economists, there is a 35 percent chance that the United States will enter a recession between 2022 and 2023. Americans do not believe that the country’s economy will be able to recover before the midterm elections.

The Hits Keep Coming: Only 4 in 10 Americans Approve of Sleepy Joe
April 25, 2022
Joe Biden promised a “return to normalcy” under his administration. But what we’ve seen over the last year or so has been anything but normal. We’ve seen an old man, suffering from dementia, dodder around like a nursing home patient. We’ve seen corrupt administration heads pretend like nothing is wrong. Even as inflation gets out of control, the supply chain shuts down, and chaos rages all over the world.

There is nothing about the Biden administration that instills confidence in Americans. And nobody can approve of Biden’s performance if they are being honest. Things seem to go from bad to worse. On top of that, nobody in his administration cares. They only push more bad policies, even as they fail again and again. So, we shouldn’t be surprised to see his approval continue to sink.

Between January 20 and April 19, an average of 41.3% of American adults “approved of the job he was doing as president,” according to Gallup. “The latest average is essentially unchanged from the 41.7% in his fourth quarter but significantly lower than his first three quarterly averages.”

Meanwhile, a Gallup survey conducted in the first half of April showed that 56% of Americans disapprove “of the way Biden is handling his job as president.”

The polling is likely a bad omen for the Democrats ahead of the midterm elections. “Typically, unpopular presidents’ parties have lost seats in midterm elections, with the number of seats lost usually much higher for presidents with job approval ratings below 50%,” Gallup explained. “While it is possible that Biden’s job approval could increase between now and the fall elections, doing so would go against the historical pattern for second-year presidents.” [Source: Daily Wire]

We honestly have to ask how is Biden’s approval this high, at this point. Is Gallup polling children? Are they asking people as senile as Joe Biden? How can anyone look at the country and honestly say Biden is doing a good job?

Even Democrat voters have to admit things are looking bad. Biden is clearly out of his mind, with the Easter Bunny telling him what to do. His administration is full of crooks who don’t even try to do their jobs. And the economy is a wreck. Who is saying he is doing a good job?

What’s so hilarious about all this is the only thing the establishment media cares about is how this will affect the Democrats’ midterm chances. Really? So, who cares about Americans who can’t push gas in their cars? Who cares about Americans who are struggling to buy food and clothing for their kids?

Who cares about the millions of illegal aliens funneling violence and drugs into our communities? Who cares about the thousands who died needlessly in Afghanistan. Or the tens of thousands who reportedly died in Ukraine? Who cares about how Biden trampled our constitutional rights with his vaccine mandates?

No, the only thing that we should be worried about is how badly Democrats will lose in November.

This is why Americas are disgusted with Biden and his party. They only care about themselves.

Democrats Falter in Attempt to Disqualify GOP Representatives

As Democrats face the reality of what this year’s midterm elections likely hold in store, they have been attempting a variety of poor strategies to hold off the oncoming red wave. They have gerrymandered congressional districts and hyped up everything Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Committee has been able to cook up.

Along that line, they have even attempted to disqualify some Republicans from even running again by calling them “insurrectionists” in a series of cases designed to show they are prohibited from serving under the Constitution.

The Democratic advocacy group Free Speech for the People brought an action claiming that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment disqualifies Reps. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and Andy Biggs (R-AZ) from running for reelection this year.

That constitutional provision provides a person “shall not be a Senator or Representative in Congress” who has previously taken an oath to support the Constitution and thereafter “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the United States.

The provision was adopted as part of the amendments added immediately after the Civil War, and was directly addressed at the qualification of previous members of the Confederate government to serve again in the United States government.

The problem with the Arizona case is that none of the Republican defendants were involved in the riot outside and inside the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021. The plaintiffs in the case have claimed that they were “involved” in the events of January 6 by participating in the rally that occured the same day.

The mere act of Gosar and Biggs of not accepting the electoral votes of some states after the 2020 election is not an “insurrection.” In fact, it is something that Democrats themselves have done on several occasions.

The Arizona case was accordingly thrown out of court. The judge hearing the matter said that the GOP defendants have “not been charged with or convicted of” any federal or state crime having any relation to insurrection or rebellion against the United States. The judge also agreed with the Republican defendants that the only Constitutional power to determine the qualifications of any person to serve in Congress is Congress itself.

Another case is pending against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and she provided testimony on Friday that demonstrated how flimsy the claims of Democratic activists are.

A similar case against Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) has also been dismissed.

There is no way to predict what other wild swings Democrats will take throughout the year as the reckoning of the November elections draws near.

"The rule harms northern states and communities near the Canadian border and the open border policy at the Mexican border only demonstrates the president’s hypocrisy."
Biden Keeps Northern Border Closed to Unvaxxed Canadians

Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued an update last Thursday indicating that unvaccinated Canadians wishing to enter the U.S. at the northern border will be banned from entry due to the extension of the rule requiring COVID vaccinations for entry. Meanwhile, the southern border remains wide open with hundreds of thousands of illegal and unvaccinated immigrants crossing freely.

The DHS said that “COVID-19-related land border entry requirements” are being extended indefinitely. Non-U.S. travelers will be required to provide proof of “full vaccination” at ports of entry and ferry terminals at all land borders upon request. Air travelers are also required to show proof of vaccination at customs before entering the country.

The “temporary rule” requiring vaccinations had been in place since January and had been set to expire at Midnight on Thursday before it was extended.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (D-NY) sharply criticized the Biden administration’s decision to extend the vaccine requirement. She said the rule harms northern states and communities near the Canadian border and the open border policy at the Mexican border only demonstrates the president’s hypocrisy.

She said that travel restrictions at the northern border for the last two years have devastated tourism and the supply chain while cruelly separating families.

Some border crossers have told reporters that they have not been checked at the northern border for proof of vaccination. One person said that they have never been asked for any proof but said going back to Canada is a “pain as they still make you quarantine” if a person is not vaccinated.

Children under 18 are not subject to the DHS border vaccine rule. The rule also excludes foreign diplomats and those with a “humanitarian or emergency exception” as determined by the DHS Secretary.

Before the rule was imposed in January, unvaccinated travelers including truck drivers were allowed to enter the U.S. at land borders. The U.S. put the mandate in place shortly after the Canadian government ordered that all truckers and other travelers must be vaccinated to enter.

The Canadian rule led to fierce protests, headlined by the Freedom Convoy of thousands of truck drivers who congregated at the capital city of Ottawa. That protest was eventually shut down by Prime Minister Justin Truedeau when he called the Canadian Emergencies Act into action for the first time in the country’s history.

Elon Musk and SpaceX thwarted a Russian electromagnetic attack on Ukraine
April 24, 2022

SpaceX — a company founded and owned by Elon Musk with the express intention of colonizing Mars — successfully stopped a Russian electromagnetic attack in Ukraine.

In March, Musk’s company worked at a breakneck pace to shut down Russian efforts to disconnect Ukrainians from the internet by jamming the country’s access to its Starlink satellite constellation.

Starlink is operated by SpaceX and provides internet coverage to 32 countries. The constellation consists of more than 2,000 mass-produced small satellites that reside in low orbit and communicate with designated transceivers on the Earth’s surface.

At the outset of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, when it became clear that the Russian government was going to target the Ukrainian people’s ability to communicate, Ukrainian officials pleaded with Musk to intervene and provide them with relief.

Dave Tremper, director of electronic warfare for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, lauded SpaceX’s ability to turn on a dime and swiftly stymie Russia’s efforts to jam the Starlink satellite’s ability to provide broadband.

Defense News reported that Tremper said, “The next day [after reports about the Russian jamming effort hit the media], Starlink had slung a line of code and fixed it, and suddenly that [Russian jamming attack] was not effective anymore. From [the] EW technologist’s perspective, that is fantastic … and how they did that was eye-watering to me.”

Tremper noted that it would have taken the American government considerably longer to counteract the Russian electromagnetic attack than it did Musk’s company.

Tremper said, “We need to be able to have that agility. We need to be able to change our electromagnetic posture to be able to change, very dynamically, what we’re trying to do without losing capability along the way.”

Noting that electromagnetic warfare requires very finely tuned machinery and highly skilled operators, Tremper said the Russian invasion of Ukraine indicated how important it was to make sure that American personnel were properly trained in electromagnetic warfare operations.

He said, “It is a very hard problem, if you don’t have well-trained operators. The degree of coordination and synchronization of these types of operations is such that the undertrained operator will have a harder time pulling off those types of events successfully.”

This is not the only time that Elon Musk has thwarted the Russians’ plans in the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

When the Russian government threatened to drop the International Space Station on the Earth by ceasing to provide it with resources and technology for propulsion, Musk said that he would keep the station from falling onto the planet.

"There's no issue Biden isn't capable of mishandling."
The GOP’s Newest Midterm Issue: Menthols?
Majority of voters in three swing states oppose Biden's menthol ban
April 25, 2022

With voters across the country already sour on Joe Biden's handling of immigration, foreign policy, and the economy, Republicans have identified another issue to rally midterm voters against Democrats: the president's proposed menthol cigarette ban.

According to an April Echelon Insights Poll obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, swing-state voters in Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina widely disapprove of the Biden administration's potential menthol ban. Fifty-two percent of Georgia and Nevada voters and 50 percent of North Carolina voters say the administration should keep menthols legal. Just 28, 31, and 30 percent of voters, meanwhile, want to ban the flavored cigarettes in Nevada, Georgia, and North Carolina, respectively.

Should the Biden administration move forward with its menthol ban, the decision could harm the president's standing in the three states, which are crucial to determining control of the Senate in the November midterm elections. Forty-nine percent of Nevada voters—including 60 percent of Hispanic voters in the state—would be less likely to support a candidate who "vocally supported" a menthol ban, the poll shows. Just 21 percent of Silver State voters would be more likely to back a menthol ban supporter, according to the poll.

The Biden administration announced its intention to ban menthol cigarettes on April 29, 2021, citing an intention to "address health disparities experienced by communities of color, low-income populations, and LGBTQ+ individuals." According to the FDA, 85 percent of black smokers use menthol cigarettes over their non-flavored counterparts.

Roughly one year later, however, the proposed ban is still in limbo, and the Biden administration's delay has not helped sell the move to voters. With Biden facing spikes in violent crime, war in Ukraine, and record inflation, nearly 90 percent of voters in Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina believe the administration should not "spend their time banning menthol cigarettes," the Echelon poll shows. As a result, more than 60 percent of voters in the three states believe Biden should take a pause on the ban.

A veteran Republican operative told the Free Beacon that Republicans won't hesitate to highlight the ban if it's enacted, adding that there's "no issue Biden isn't capable of mishandling."

"As usual, the Biden administration continues to try to control the lives of everyday Americans instead of fixing the soaring inflation crisis it created," the operative said. "First, Biden said, ‘If you don't vote for me, you ain't black.' Now, he's saying, ‘If you choose to smoke menthols, you must be.'"

According to the Echelon poll, roughly two-thirds of Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina voters oppose the ban because they feel it would be ineffective. More than 60 percent of voters in the three states, meanwhile, believe the ban would "push the product out of legitimate stores and onto street corners where gangs and violent criminals sell and generate profit for organized crime." That number includes 77 percent of Hispanic voters in Nevada, 60 percent of Democratic voters in Georgia, and 64 percent of independent voters in North Carolina.

The American Civil Liberties Union voiced a similar concern last year, calling the ban a "policy disaster waiting to happen" because it would create "large, underground illegal markets" and cause "a massive law enforcement problem for states, counties, and cities." Earlier this month, anti-Semitic agitator and Democratic power broker Al Sharpton penned a Letter to the Biden administration that said a menthol ban would "expose consumers to dangerous contraband cigarettes" and "promote criminal activity."

Jen Psaki Makes Her Most Delusional Claim To Date – Limitations Prevent Us Seeing Joe Biden’s Magic [VIDEO]
"There's a lot of ways that people digest information..."
APRIL 25, 2022
With Joe Biden having been in the White House for 16 months, his track record has been a little bumpy to say the least. Going back to the start, the Biden administration has juggled the Southern border crisis, COVID-19, Russia invading Ukraine, and there was always the withdrawal in Afghanistan.

Still, as President Biden’s approval ratings have plummeted with both inflation and gas prices soaring, on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed that COVID-19 limitations on Biden have caused many Americans not to see the “magic” behind Amtrak Joe.

Part of a panel hosted by NBC News correspondent Kelly O’Donnell for the Bipartisan Policy Center, Psaki, as can be seen below, was asked if the President was frustrated with how was being portrayed. Psaki stated, “Look, I think every president probably is frustrated at moments when they are not, do not feel like their views, their passions, their policies are being heard and digested. There’s lots of reasons for that.”

The Press Secretary added that Biden’s long speeches were causing people to tune out: “You know, there are good questions that, I know this is not a panel about this, but like, are long speeches, still effective means of communicating with the public. Probably not, right?” she asked. “I mean, we know that because there’s a lot of ways that people digest information. Would he like to be traveling a lot more out in the country? We’ve been talking about this for a while. Yes.”

As mentioned above, one of the reasons presented by Psaki was COVID-19. She continued, “I mean, he’s traveling three times this week, and in some ways I look at there are limitations that have been imposed upon him and us because of COVID that I think have not allowed people to see at all times what his magic is, right? Which is his ability to connect and be empathetic and talk to people and hear their stories. And often a lot of that is just spontaneous. And because he hasn’t been traveling much, I think that’s been limiting.”

Psaki concluded, “But I do think the speeches, I mean, we’ve kind of, we’ve done fewer speeches in some ways. And like every White House, you’re always trying to think about how to break out of the bubble of things. So I don’t know. It’s a constant debate. But as you noted also, there are realities of what we have to communicate about. And if you’re in the White House, you have to communicate about everything happening in the world, right?”

Online, users couldn’t help but joke, “Magic? He doesn’t even know where he is 1/2 the time.”

Barack Obama Has Unleashed New Attacks on Free Speech

Free speech has been under attack in America for quite some time now. As Democrats move to crush the First Amendment, they do so under false pretenses of trying to stop “misinformation” or “disinformation.”

However, combating misinformation and disinformation never requires censorship. In actuality, open dialogue and debate are the best weapons against falsehoods.

Yet, the Democrats’ agenda isn’t about fighting lies; it’s about controlling the flow of information so that only their viewpoints are heard.

This explains why the left goes insane when anyone says or does something that doesn’t fit the Democratic narrative or agenda.

The agenda to control the information people have access to also explains some of the latest remarks by former President Obama, according to PJ Media.

Obama on the First Amendment

During a speech at Stanford University a few days ago, Obama declared that free speech rights within the First Amendment don’t apply to social media sites.

The former president declared that platforms like Facebook, Instagram, etc., can ramp up censorship levels without violating the First Amendment, due to the fact these bodies aren’t controlled by Congress.

However, Obama’s advocacy here implies that there’s nothing wrong with large entities buying up all media sources and then shutting down anything that doesn’t fit their narrative. Of course, many people would take issues with how this conflicts with the First Amendment.

Later, in additional remarks, Obama even went as far as claiming that “content moderation” rules aren’t adequate in preventing “dangerous” ideas from spreading. If content moderation isn’t enough for Democrats, then it begs to question what the left’s ideal solution would be.

Secondly, Obama didn’t mention who gets to determine which ideas are “dangerous” and which are not.

Of course, if the former president had things his way, the Democrat Party would decide what is and isn’t dangerous. It goes without saying that any viewpoints or arguing veering away from the political left would be deemed as dangerous and therefore shut down.

Taking the Mask Off

Obama, along with the Democrat Party, is slowly taking off the mask from what’s always been the Democratic agenda.

Democrats say they’re for “democracy,” but what they really want is a left-wing autocracy where radicals run the show. Likewise, Democrats say they want to stop “misinformation,” but they really want to shut down anything and anyone who disagrees with them.

The war on the First Amendment has to be taken seriously. If Americans lose the right to free speech, we will lose our country altogether.

Democrats Are Lying About “Disinformation” in America

The word “disinformation” is frequently used by Democrats and unfortunately has lost its true meaning.

When Democrats call something “disinformation,” they aren’t genuinely referring to false statements that are intended to deceive folks. What Democrats really mean by “disinformation” are facts or viewpoints that don’t align with left-wing perspectives, narratives, or agendas.

Under the false umbrella of supposedly fighting “disinformation,” Democrats are constantly rallying for anything they don’t like to be censored and pulled down from the internet earlier this year.

Leftist tried to do this with podcast host Joe Rogan a few months back. Now, they’re expanding these efforts to social media as a whole, according to Red State.

The Dangerous Agenda of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton

During a speech at Stanford about so-called disinformation, former President Obama declared that social media, television, and the internet are “tools” that can ultimately be “remade.”

Of course, when Democrats talk about “remaking” tools like social media, they want to “remake” these things in a way that only puts out what leftism agrees with. Democrats aren’t interested in dissent or any sort of open debate or dialogue with different viewpoints.

This was made more than clear by some remarks that twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton shared about “disinformation.”

In a tweet, Clinton accused big tech companies of promoting “extremism” and disinformation without any sort of responsibility. After declaring the EU wants to put in place changes to stop this, Clinton endorsed the spread of “global democracy.”

Like “disinformation,” when Democrats reference “democracy,” they aren’t really speaking of true democracy. They’re actually calling for a one-party, left-wing rule where no one else gets a say.

This is why Democrats become so enraged at the slightest piece of content that differs from their narratives.

Disinformation vs. Differences in Opinion

There’s a very real contrast between someone intentionally putting out wrong details to con people, as opposed to someone sharing an opinion that one doesn’t agree with or facts that don’t support a given narrative.

Ironically, as Democrats label any and everything they don’t agree with as “disinformation,” they are actually the true spreaders of disinformation. Trying to shut down speech and censor social media platforms are tactics that only very desperate individuals would use.

If Democrats were confident in themselves and their viewpoints, they would have no problem debating Republicans, conservatives, or anyone else who challenges them.

The left-wing’s interest in controlling speech and the spread of information shows just how fragile their perspectives and policies truly are.

Hillary Clinton’s Anti-Free Speech Rant is Very Revealing

As Democrats sense themselves losing popularity and control over the lives of Americans, they’re resorting to censorship in order to regain control.

Months ago, the White House itself called for Spotify to “do more” to censor podcaster Joe Rogan. All of this happened simply because Rogan had guests on his podcast that dared to make statements about COVID vaccines that leftists didn’t like.

Then, just a few days ago, former President Obama spoke at Stanford University, openly railing against First Amendment rights. Obama claimed that free speech isn’t applicable to social media platforms.

He also went on to argue that simply moderating certain content online isn’t enough.

As horrible as all of this is, it gets even worse. According to Twitchy, two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has now come out with her two cents about why free speech needs to be cracked down on.

Reviewing Clinton’s Take on Free Speech

This past Thursday, Clinton tweeted out that social media companies let “extremism” and so-called “disinformation” have a platform on their sites. Clinton then stated this has been carried out with “no accountability” before saying the EU has a plan to curb free speech rights.

Clinton’s take on free speech is right in line with the standard left-wing talking points. Democrats always claim that First Amendment rights need to be rolled back in order to save everyone from being poisoned by “disinformation.”

In truth, if Clinton, Obama, and other Democrats truly cared about ending “disinformation,” they’d be all for free speech, which allows for open debates that reveal fact from fiction. Of course, the endgame is control, not ending disinformation, which is why Democrats are doing what they’re doing.

If Democrats are able to shut down First Amendment rights, there’s no telling what their next antics will be. Every single American must remain on high alert when it comes to this war on constitutional rights.

The Irony of Clinton Railing Against “Disinformation”

As the twice-unsuccessful presidential candidate attacks so-called “disinformation,” her own ex-campaign attorney is being federally charged for misleading the FBI.

Clinton had no problem with real disinformation when it was in the works to tie former President Trump to non-existent collusion with Russia. Oddly enough, Clinton never got around to mentioning this amid her comments about the dangers of disinformation.

It’s no coincidence that Democrats’ desperation to shut down free speech rights comes as they are months away from getting steamrolled in the midterm elections.

EU Takes Giant Step Towards Online Censorship — With Hillary’s Encouragement

The European Union reached an agreement Saturday on the Digital Services Act (DSA), landmark legislation that forces tech giants to aggressively go after “illegal” content on their platforms. And perhaps the biggest cheerleader for the move is former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The former First Lady, before DSA’s passage, tweeted that tech platforms have been allowed for too long to “amplify disinformation and extremism with no accountability.” She urged the EU to pass the act and reinforce global democracy “before it’s too late.”

For the record, this is the same Hillary Clinton who’s former campaign attorney faces federal indictment for tall tales to the FBI about the 2016 Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia.

As for DSA, firms like Google and Facebook parent Meta risk multi-billion-dollar fines if illegal and harmful postings are not taken down rapidly. New procedures are required to erase illegal content like hate speech, incitement to terrorism and content deemed disinformation.

Fines under the DSA may total up to 6% of a company’s annual global revenues, which can reach ten figures for the largest platforms. Based on 2021 revenue, Facebook parent Meta could face fines and penalties as high as $7 billion.

Sites that rely on user-generated content such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok all fall under the new law.

Online advertising is also a large focus of DSA, as tech companies now face more regulations governing how they target users. The law will effectively stop them from using algorithms based on data such as gender, race, or religion to aim at specific users and audiences. All advertising targeting children will be illegal.

The move by the EU means Europe is ahead of an issue U.S. lawmakers also are wrestling with. On Thursday, former President Barack Obama told a Stanford University audience that large tech companies have shirked their responsibilities for eliminating online disinformation. He called for further government regulation of social media platforms, a position echoed by many Washington lawmakers.

Autocrats love to preach that the Constitution is a “living” document in their attempts to circumvent the clear intentions of the framers. And yes, the left has given up any pretense of defending the 2nd Amendment, but when did they throw the 1st Amendment out of the window as well?

The latest noise outta The House of Tello. The Other Guitar Guy and myself play our ad-lib rendition of a Popular Traditional American Dance Tune. It's quite "jumpy", you'll agree. Plus, be ready for the twisted surprise ending. The Rocker's Psyche is a powerfully dangerous social abrasive. Rub it.

What galaxy? Whos galaxy?

Define galaxy.

Loose gathering of astronomical bodies - stars and solar systems and other phenomena - and vast swathes of interstellar dust and gas, held by gravity in such a way that even if the bond is tenuous, the astronomical collection is clearly defined within the larger context of the universe.

If you were looking at the universe - the great width and depth and height and colour and taste of it, the sum of the visible or material, the entire expanse bound within what we know as time and space - if you were looking at it spread out before you, you would see distinct blotches or gatherings, separate from the vast darkness and visual emptiness and mind-boggling distance that makes up intergalactical space. Those blotches are like islands, scattered here and there, and the space between them is like a great ocean. You would see the shapes and elongations and concentration of matter with a more-or-less distinct outline, forming each separate galaxy.

If you were then to draw closer to one of those galaxies, the better to make out the details, you would gradually see that the distinct outline and concentration of matter is not a solid thing, but rather what looks like a universe in its own right. The shape might be one of several possibilities; let's say that we are looking at a spiral galaxy. Come closer, and what is revealed is a vastness of comparatively empty space within that galaxy, punctuated by splashes of light. At first they are but pinpricks, and many of these are fuzzy and without detail. Come closer again, and some of those pinpricks become clearer. They are not all alike; they are not all the same. They are the glories of the night sky, some achingly distant from your viewpoint, and some nearer so that you can make out some structure. It is rich and detailed and fantastical, and some areas are brighter by far than others. Some areas are less dense, while some are as spectacularly vibrant as a peacock's tail.

Were you to draw closer still, you would make out systems within this galaxy. Extraordinary history is painted upon the darkness, and the stuff of the universe is laid out for you to admire. Suns alight with the heart of power, satellites circling other bodies and possibly mirroring the glory of the sun, comets with great swathing tails of flame, cold planets and asteroids and belts of jagged studs, matter of strange properties, areas of immense pull and a deadly compression down to less than the head of a pin, frozen wastes and burning rocks... and there are systems ruled by a great light, each separate planet lain in its course and moving in accordance with laws of motion that we can only deduce by observation and mathematics.

Finally you may find a modest system orbiting a sun that burns with just sufficient energy for its attendants; planets varying in size and in their distance from the sun move against the moving sun, in a complicated dance choreographed by gravity. These planets speak of the substance of the universe in different costumes and in different materials forming their composition. An icy acidic storm of tremendous ferocity... an eternal and burning desert... gases tumbling within the confines of a great boundary... rare minerals, children born of the wild elements...

And within each object in this macro universe of ours, the visible world, there are orbits of elements and beyond that are yet stranger realms. We are not at the absolute heart of our universe yet, and there is still so much to learn. Reality is like a box within a box within a box within a box within ... etc.

What galaxy? Whos galaxy?

Define galaxy.

Bunch of stars.

Am I supposed to read all that?

Thanks to brum6y for his insightful summary.

You're supposed to read that.

"comets with great swathing tails of flame, cold planets and asteroids and belts of jagged studs" ... come on, how could you not love reading that?

I dint read any of it.

But this short version has rocked my world.

Yer good. Talented. Long-winded.

Me? I keep it simple. I like to look at the pictures.

Kamala Harris Breaks A Jaw-Dropping
Historical Record

April 26, 2022

With her approval ratings at all-time lows, and according to numerous surveys, her popularity is as low as any politician ever elected, Kamala Harris’ reputation has become so toxic that it has reached record levels.

According to a new Trafalgar Group survey conducted between April 18 and 20, only 28.5 percent of American citizens approve of Harris, with 62.6 percent disapproving and 8.9 percent having no opinion. Only 51% of Democrats approve of her, while just 13.5% of Republicans and 23.5% of independents like her.

According to Trafalgar, the former U.S. Senator is currently the most reviled major political figure in recent memory.

We’ve chronicled Harris’ declining popularity as the general public has become familiar with this awful woman:

“A poll has shown that Kamala Harris may very well become the most reviled vice president in US history over the first six months of her term.”

“According to the YouGov graph, Harris’s unpopularity rating has surpassed her popularity among verified voters for the first time since June of 2020. The unpopularity of VP Pence has reached 49 percent while his popularity stands at 45 percent as of last Saturday.”

“As revealed by The Telegraph, a recent Economist/YouGov poll found that Harris’ favorability among young voters is low. Only 36 percent of 18-29 year olds have a favorable view of her. Hispanic voters are also turning against her because of her border crisis mismanagement, according to an Economist/YouGov poll.”

“After just six months in office, the popularity of Jim Bridenstine surpasses that of Dan Quayle and Mike Pence, two former VPs who are often regarded as having unsuccessful tenures. According to The Telegraph, Pence’s unfavorable rating was 41.9 percent in July 2017, while his favorability rating was 42.1 percent.”

“As for Quayle, his disapproval rating was only 22 percent after just six months, in comparison to 43 percent approval. Unlike Kamala Harris, however, Quayle was much less well-known at the time. In July 1993, 34% were undecided about their viewpoint of Quayle; by comparison, just 6% were unresolved about Harris.”

Elon Musk Fires Back At 'Those Who Fear Free Speech'
APRIL 26, 2022

Elon Musk just clapped back at anti-speech critics mad that he purchased Twitter and has vowed to reinstate the platform's early commitment to free speech.

After a solid 24 hours of backlash from the pro-censorship mob now afraid they'll have to share space with people who disagree with them, Musk fired back against "those who fear free speech."

"The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all," Musk tweeted.

He's not wrong - about the overreaction, or the purpose behind it.

Leftists from activist Shaun King (who has since deleted his entire account) to hand-wringers like CNN's Brian Stelter and the entire cast of MSNBC, liberals have accused Musk of being a white supremacist intent on letting "Nazis" run rampant on the site, whined that "disinformation" may throw a wrench in the carefully crafted left-wing propaganda machine, and and fretted that he could (gasp!) influence elections by suppressing certain voices (because only liberals are allowed to do that).

It was announced Monday that Musk, a pro-speech advocate, had purchased Twitter for $44 billion. Since then, the billionaire CEO has vowed to open the platform back up to free speech, get rid of Twitter bots, make the algorithm open-source, and verify every human user.

Trump Not Returning to Twitter, Will Stay on TRUTH Social
APRIL 26, 2022

For all of those people wondering if and when former President Donald Trump will be allowed to rejoin Twitter after Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s deal to buy the social media platform, wonder no more.

Trump told Fox News on Monday that while he hopes Musk buys Twitter, he won’t be returning to Twitter because he wants to stay exclusively on his own TRUTH Social platform.

“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH," Trump said. "I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.”

It was reported on Monday that Musk “worked out a deal” with Twitter to purchase the company. One of the big question was whether Musk would reinstate Trump’s account after he had been silenced by the platform while he was still the president.

As far as TRUTH Social, it’s been a success in terms of people wanting to join, but it’s also been a mixed bag response because of the limited rollout. The app isn’t yet available on the Google Play Store, which is what Android phones use to procure applications for users.

It’ll be interesting to see if a natural rivalry might build out of Trump staying on TRUTH and Musk making Twitter private again, particularly heading into the 2024 election season.

Squires: Leftist Twitter is afraid of Elon Musk because lies die in the light of truth
April 26, 2022

The Washington Post, owned by billionaire Jeff Bezos, is famous for the slogan “Democracy Dies in Darkness.” Prominent public figures on the left are in full meltdown mode over Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, because they know lies die when exposed by the truth.

This is why right-of-center Twitter users were happy to hear Musk pledge to make the platform a place where people can respectfully engage in public debate in the digital town square. Those debates used to be about tax rates and the minimum wage. Over the past few years, however, the stakes have been raised considerably. Now our public debates are about foundational issues of biology and identity.

The Babylon Bee, a Christian satire site, was suspended from Twitter for naming Dr. Rachel Levine “Man of the Year.” This came after Levine, a man who identifies as a woman, was named one of USA Today’s Women of the Year in March. Levine was also described by the New York Times last October as the first “female” four-star admiral in the history of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

Two of the most prominent media companies in the country openly advocate the lie that a person with XY chromosomes and male reproductive organs can be a female. The only way they are allowed to sell this lie is if people who know the truth are bullied, coerced, or forced to remain silent.

You can’t have a free society without the ability to speak freely. The suppression of ideas that run afoul of leftist dogma is only one leg on the three-legged stool of deceit. Another is the unwillingness to use clear terms and logic to defend one’s positions.

This is why most of the left’s most controversial policy priorities rely heavily on euphemisms and clichés. It would be difficult to defend second-trimester abortions if Democrats were forced to tell voters that a doctor must dismember a baby’s body – literally tearing it limb from limb – and crush his skull to remove him from his mother. It’s much easier to run on “protecting a woman’s right to choose” or advancing the cause of “reproductive justice.”

The same goes for using the term “gender-affirming care” to describe attempts to socially, medicinally, and surgically change a person’s sex. The public seems supportive because the media launders these ideas on behalf of the people bent on completely reshaping our society for ideological and political purposes.

Shining the light of truth on these issues typically leads to a loss of public support and a quick pivot away from approved talking points. In the case of the “defund the police” movement, the activists in the Democratic Party were completely refuted when President Biden boldly declared that we must “fund the police” three times during his most recent State of the Union address.

The final leg that props up approved lies is the unwillingness to debate controversial issues publicly. Sometimes this is expressed by people who believe speaking directly to certain people – or simply being at the same event – equals the endorsement of their ideas. Often it is the institutional decision to take one position on an issue and allow no dissenting voices.

The way corporate media outlets like ESPN cover Penn swimmer Lia Thomas and other transgender athletes is the most glaring example. The network spent years having discussions about Colin Kaepernick’s protest and using sports to bring attention to issues of race, policing, and social justice. There were no such debates or panel discussions when female athletes around the country started speaking up about the unfairness of having to compete against boys on the track or in the pool.

Free speech and public debate used to be hallmarks of classical liberalism. Now anyone to the political right of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a hard time getting through speeches on college campuses without being subjected to the heckler’s veto.

Jeffrey Younger is a candidate for a seat in the Texas House of Representatives who wants to ban puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and “sex-change surgeries” for minors. Younger’s ex-wife believes their son is transgender and makes him go by the name “Luna” when the child is in her care. Younger lost custody of his son but must grant his permission before his son can receive puberty blockers or undergo genital surgery.

Younger wanted to discuss these issues with students at the University of North Texas. They preferred to chant “f*cking fascist” through surgical masks. That behavior is not unusual on college campuses today, where the “mental health and safety” of students has become a higher priority than the free exchange of ideas.

Conservatives may not realize it, but this uneven playing field is a long-term strategic advantage. The average people on the right have had to examine their underlying worldview assumptions, define their terms, and work out their arguments in an environment that is often very hostile.

Liberals don’t have to think very deeply about their ideas because they tend to stay in ideological bubbles where probing questions are not allowed. Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter is an existential crisis for people who have become accustomed to asserting opinions as facts to an audience with the same beliefs.

The people who are afraid of having their ideas challenged feel that way for a reason. They may still play word games and avoid debates, but they can no longer depend on Twitter executives and algorithms to silence their opposition. The Bible instructs Christians to expose the “fruitless deeds of darkness” and “destroy arguments” and opinions raised against the knowledge of God. It’s hard to be faithful to those duties when factual statements are labeled “disinformation” or described as hateful. This is why truth must live in the light.

Microplastics are in our bodies.
How much do they harm us?

The science is unsettled, but researchers say
there is cause for concern.

APRIL 25, 2022

As plastic waste proliferates around the world, an essential question remains unanswered: What harm, if any, does it cause to human health?

A few years ago, as microplastics began turning up in the guts of fish and shellfish, the concern was focused on the safety of seafood. Shellfish were a particular worry, because in their case, unlike fish, we eat the entire animal—stomach, microplastics and all. In 2017, Belgian scientists announced that seafood lovers could consume up to 11,000 plastic particles a year by eating mussels, a favorite dish in that country.

By then, however, scientists already understood that plastics continuously fragment in the environment, shredding over time into fibers even smaller than a strand of human hair —particles so small they easily become airborne. A team at the U.K.’s University of Plymouth decided to compare the threat from eating contaminated wild mussels in Scotland to that of breathing air in a typical home. Their conclusion: People will take in more plastic during a mussels dinner by inhaling or ingesting tiny, invisible plastic fibers floating in the air around them, fibers shed by their own clothes, carpets, and upholstery, than they will by eating the mussels.

This spring, scientists from the Netherlands and the U.K. announced they had found tiny plastic particles in living humans, in two places where they hadn’t been seen before: deep inside the lungs of surgical patients, and in the blood of anonymous donors. Neither of the two studies  answered the question of possible harm. But together they signaled a shift in the focus of concern about the plastics toward the cloud of airborne dust particles we live in, some of them so small they can penetrate deep inside the body and even inside cells, in ways that larger microplastics can’t.

Dick Vethaak, a professor emeritus of ecotoxicology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and co-author of the blood study, doesn’t consider his results alarming, exactly—“but, yes, we should be concerned. Plastics should not be in your blood.”

“We live in a multi-particle world,” he adds, alluding to the dust, pollen, and soot that humans also breathe in every day. “The trick is to figure out how much plastics contribute to that particle burden and what does that mean.”

Harm is the hard part
Scientists have been studying microplastics, defined as particles measuring less than five millimeters (a fifth of an inch) across, for a quarter century. Richard Thompson, a marine scientist at the University of Plymouth, coined the term in 2004 after finding piles of rice-sized plastic bits above the tideline on an English beach. In the ensuing years, scientists located microplastics all over the globe, from the floor of the Mariana Trench to the summit of Mount Everest.

Microplastics are in salt, beer, fresh fruit and vegetables, and drinking water. Airborne particles can circle the globe in a matter of days and fall from the sky like rain. Seagoing expeditions to count microplastics in the ocean produce incomprehensible numbers, which have multiplied over time as more tonnage of plastic waste enters the oceans every year and disintegrates. A peer-reviewed count published in 2014 put the total at five trillion. In the latest tally, made last year, Japanese scientists from Kyushu University estimated 24.4 trillion microplastics in the world’s upper oceans—the equivalent of roughly 30 billion half-liter water bottles—a number in itself hard to fathom.

“When I started doing this work in 2014, the only studies being done involved looking for where they are,” says Alice Horton, a marine scientist at the UK’s National Oceanography Center who specializes in microplastic pollution. “We can stop looking now. We know wherever we look, we will find them.”

But determining if they cause harm is much harder. Plastics are made from a complex combination of chemicals, including additives that give them strength and flexibility. Both plastics and chemical additives can be toxic. The most recent analysis has identified more than 10,000 unique chemicals used in plastics, of which more than 2,400 are of potential concern, says Scott Coffin, a research scientist at the California State Water Resource Control Board. Many are “not adequately regulated” in many countries, the study says, and includes 901 chemicals that are not approved for use in food packaging in some jurisdictions.

Additives can also leach into water, and one study found that up to 88 percent could leach, depending on factors that include sunlight and length of time. The same study found up to 8,681 unique chemicals and additives associated with a single plastic product. Sorting out which particular chemical combinations are problematic, and finding the level and length of exposure that causes harm in such a convoluted brew is no easy task.

“You may find a correlation, but you would be hard pressed to find causation because of the sheer number of chemicals we’re exposed to in our daily lives,” says Denise Hardesty, a research scientist who has studied plastic waste for 15 years at Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization.

Janice Brahney, a biochemist at Utah State University who studies how dust transports nutrients, pathogens, and contaminants, says she is concerned because plastic production continues to increase dramatically, while so much about microplastics remains unknown. In 2020, 367 million metric tons of plastics were manufactured, an amount that is forecast to triple by 2050. “It is alarming because we are far into this problem and we still don’t understand the consequences, and it is going to be very difficult to back out of it if we have to,” she says.

The American Chemical Council (ACC), an industry trade group, maintains a lengthy collection of statements on its website explaining chemical composition of various plastics and rebuttals to research claims that certain plastics are toxic.

“No, microplastics are not the ‘New Acid Rain.’ Not even close,” the council said in response to media coverage of Brahney’s 2020 paper, published in Science, which estimated that 11 billion metric tons of plastic will accumulate in the environment by 2025. (Brahney calculated that just in the western U.S., more than 1,000 metric tons of tiny particles are carried by the wind and fall out of the air every year.)

The ACC also criticized that finding, saying, “The amount of microplastics in the environment represents only 4 percent of particles collected on average… The other 96 percent is comprised of natural materials like minerals, dirt and sand, insect parts, pollen and more.”

Meanwhile, the ACC said through a spokesman it has launched a research program to help answer outstanding questions of microplastics, including those surrounding household dust, and help establish a global exchange of microplastics research between universities, research institutions, and industry. The work envisioned will include examining the environmental fate and potential routes of exposure of microplastics, identifying potential hazards, and developing a framework to assess risk. Findings will be published over the next few years.

The topic is so complicated and controversial, Hardesty says, that even the definition of harm comes up for debate at times. Should we only worry about the effects of microplastics on human health? What about the harm they might do to animals and ecosystems?

Plastics in animals
The search for potential harm from plastics actually began with animal studies some 40 years ago, when marine biologists studying the diets of seabirds began finding plastic in their stomachs. As more marine wildlife began to be affected by plastics, either by entanglement or ingestion, studies expanded beyond birds to other marine species, as well as to rats and mice.

In 2012, the Convention on Biological Diversity in Montreal declared that all seven sea turtle species, 45 percent of marine mammal species, and 21 percent of seabird species were affected by eating or becoming entangled in plastic. The same year 10 scientists unsuccessfully called on the world’s nations to officially classify the most harmful plastic as hazardous, which  would give their regulatory agencies “the power to restore affected habitats.”

In the decade since, the numbers and risks to animals have worsened. More than 700 species are affected by plastics. It is probable that hundreds of millions of wild birds have consumed plastic, scientists say, and by mid-century, all seabird species on the planet are predicted to be eating it. Certain bird populations are already thought to be threatened by widespread exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals contained in plastics. Laboratory studies of fish have found plastics can cause harm to reproductive systems and stress the liver.

Animal studies have shown the ubiquity of plastic waste and helped inform research into its potential physiological and toxicological effects in humans.

For example, although toxins from plastics can cause adverse health effects in birds, an Australian study in 2019, in which Japanese quail chicks were deliberately fed such toxins, found the opposite: The chicks suffered minor delays in growth and maturation, but weren’t more likely than unexposed chicks to get sick, die, or have trouble reproducing. The findings surprised the scientists, who called them the “first experimental evidence” that the toxicological and endocrine effects “may not be as severe as feared for the millions of birds” carrying small loads of plastics in their stomachs.

Hardesty, one of the co-authors, says the quail study serves as a cautionary reminder that assessing the threat posed by exposure to microplastics is “not that simple.” In particular, she says, the difficulty finding clear evidence of harm in quails “really highlights that we are still not able to answer the question of what the impact of eating plastic is for humans in a definitive way.”

Plastics in humans
Measuring possible adverse effects of plastics on humans is far more difficult than on animals—unlike quail and fish, human subjects can’t intentionally be fed a diet of plastics. In laboratory tests, microplastics have been shown to cause damage to human cells, including both allergic reactions and cell death. But so far there have been no epidemiologic studies documenting, in a large group of people, a connection between exposure to microplastics and impacts on health.

Instead, research has involved small groups of people—a factor that limits conclusions that can be drawn beyond identifying the presence of microplastics in different parts of the body. A 2018 study found microplastics in the feces of eight people. Another study documented the presence of microplastics in the placentas of unborn babies.

The recent study by Vethaak and his colleagues found plastics in the blood of 17 of 22 healthy blood donors; the lung study found microplastics in 11 of 13 lung samples taken from 11 patients. Virtually nothing is known about either group that would help inform the level and length of exposure—two essential attributes to determine harm.

In both studies the plastic particles found were primarily nanoplastics, which are smaller than one micrometer. The ones found in the blood study were small enough to have been inhaled—though Vethaak says it’s also possible they were ingested. Whether such particles  can pass from the blood into other organs, especially into the brain, which is protected by a unique, dense network of cells that form a barrier, isn’t clear.

“We know particles can be transported throughout the body via the river of blood,” Vethaak says. The study is one of 15 microplastics research studies underway at the Dutch National Organization for Health Research and Development.

The lung study, done at University of Hull in the U.K.,  showed just how intrusive airborne particles can be. While the scientists expected to find plastic fibers in the lungs of surgical patients—earlier research had documented them in cadavers—they were stunned to find the highest number, of various shapes and sizes, embedded deep in the lower lung lobe. One of the fibers was two millimeters long.

“You would not expect to find microplastics in the smallest parts of the lung with the smallest diameter,” says Hull environmental ecologist Jeannette Rotchell. The study, she says, enables her team to move to the next level of questions and conduct lab studies using cells or tissue cultures of lung cells to discover the effects of the microplastics they found.

“There are many more questions,” she says. “I would like to know what levels are we exposed to in the course of our lives. What microplastics are we breathing in every day, whether working at home, going to the office, outdoors, cycling, running, in different environments. There’s a big knowledge gap.”

The question of harm
Scientists aren’t entirely fumbling around in the dark. There is extensive research on toxins found in plastics, as well as on lung diseases, from asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to cancer, which kill millions of people every year and have been linked to exposure to other pollutants. The American Lung Association, in its latest report, declared COPD, which results from chronic inflammation, to be the fourth leading cause of death in the United States.

Humans inhale a variety of foreign particles every day and have been since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution. The body’s first response is to find a way to expel them. Large particles in airways are typically coughed out. Mucus forms around particles further down the respiratory tract, creating a mucus “elevator” that propels them back up to the upper airway to be expelled. Immune cells surround those that remain to isolate them.

Over time, those particles could cause irritation that leads to a cascading range of symptoms from inflammation to infection to cancer. Or, they could remain as an inert presence and do nothing.

The particles identified in the lung study are made of plastics that are known to be toxic to humans and have caused lung irritation, dizziness, headaches, asthma, and cancer, says Kari Nadeau, a physician and director of allergy and asthma research at Stanford University. She ticked off the symptoms as she went through the list of fibers published in the study.

“We know this already from other published articles,” she says. “It takes one minute of breathing in polyurethane and you could start wheezing.”

What scientists don’t know is if the plastic particles in the lung would meet the level and length of exposure to cross the threshold of harm.

Whether such particles “directly caused asthma for someone’s whole life, that would be hard to prove,” she says. “I am not saying we should be afraid of these things. I am saying we should be cautious. We need to understand these things that are getting into our body and possibly staying there for years.”

Albert Rizzo, the American Lung Association’s chief medical officer, says the science is too unclear to draw conclusions. “Are the plastics just simply there and inert or are they going to lead to an immune response by the body that will lead to scarring, fibrosis, or cancer? We know these microplastics are all over the place. We don’t know whether the presence in the body leads to a problem. Duration is very important. How long you are exposed matters.”

He says the most relevant analogy may be the decades-long effort to convince the government that smoking causes cancer. “By the time we got enough evidence to lead to policy change, the cat was out of the bag,” he says. “I can see plastics being the same thing. Will we find out in 40 years that microplastics in the lungs led to premature aging of the lung or to emphysema? We don’t know that. In the meantime, can we make plastics safer?”

These Are The Best Liberal Freakouts And
Meltdowns About Elon Musk Buying Twitter

APRIL 26, 2022

Verified liberal personalities were in total pants-wetting meltdown mode following Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, even as the Tesla CEO vowed to support free speech amongst his worst critics.

Musk acquired the social media platform in a $44 billion deal expected to close at some point this year.

He celebrated the move on the platform itself and promised to be a champion of free speech.

“I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means,” tweeted the social media company’s new African-American owner.

But the left being the left, they weren’t too thrilled about such a concept – but they provided us with perhaps the best entertainment since Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016.

Elon Musk Vows Free Speech on Twitter, Liberals Are Terrified
Liberal columnist Shaun King of Black Lives Matter fame said Elon Musk’s free speech takeover of Twitter was all about “white power.”

“At its root, @ElonMusk wanting to purchase Twitter is not about left vs right,” King wrote. “It’s about white power.”

Numerous other verified accounts vowed to leave the platform altogether, a promise about as binding as their pledge to move to Canada after Donald Trump’s election.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki conveyed to reporters that President Biden is “concerned” about the power of social media companies.

It should be noted that Twitter, along with other platforms, helped steer the election toward Biden in 2020 by censoring stories that would have been detrimental to his campaign. Now, suddenly, there’s a problem.

The Media Research Center has documented over 640 examples of material critical of Joe Biden having been banned or censored in some manner on Twitter over the past two years.

“MRC Free Speech America tallied 646 cases in its CensorTrack database of pro-Biden censorship between March 10, 2020, and March 10, 2022,” they reported. “The tally included cases from Biden’s presidential candidacy to the present day.”

And that’s why the left is fired up. Controlling the narrative is how they win elections. And man, were they ever fired up.

Former Democrat presidential candidate Howard Dean screamed ‘his truth’ and said he’d be off the platform within a few hours of Musk taking over.

Hi Twitterverse. Many thanks for the knowledge and sharing over the past ten years or so. If Musk takes over Twitter I will be off within a few hours. Might be just as well for my well being but I’ve learned a lot of valuable stuff from many of you.Thank you all. Howard

— Howard Dean (@GovHowardDean) April 25, 2022

NBC News reporter Ben Collins, who said he covers “extremism and lies for a living,” claims Twitter is heading down that path now that Elon Musk has vowed free speech on the platform.

If Twitter is headed towards ‘extremism and lies’ then they’d be nearly indistinguishable from say … NBC News.

CNN’s Brian Stelter admitted he’s kind of freaked out by the concept of “freedom for everybody.”

There are numerous other examples of leftists, Democrats, and mainstream media personalities up in arms over the Musk move.

As Fox News contributor Joe Concha explains, the true left-wing meltdown isn’t due to Musk’s ownership of Twitter itself, it’s the idea that a major social media platform might not squash stories that are problematic to Democrats in power.

Twitter Employees Are Beside Themselves
Even amongst all of the above foaming at the mouth, the biggest freak out might have been coming from Twitter employees themselves worried about Elon Musk’s bid to turn them into a free-speech platform.

New York Times economic reporter Talmon Joseph Smith documented some of the internal grumblings, including one employee who felt they were “going to throw up.”

Software engineer Addison Howenstine tweeted that Musk’s takeover was “dangerous for democracy.”

Geraint Davies, another software engineer for the company tweeted: “Anyone in need of a software engineer with 40 years of experience? Asking for a friend.”

Cassie Nick Rumbaugh, a data scientist at Twitter, wrote weeks ago that she is “terrified” over the prospect of Musk serving as CEO.

According to the Daily Mail, numerous employees voiced concern about having to leave their homes to go to work in the office.

“Employees bombarded the site and internal message boards with attacks on Musk, and raised fears they would now be forced to stop working from home under the new regime,” they wrote.

Journalist Yashar Ali expanded a bit on those concerns.

In fact, it’s so bad that developers were blocked from the Twitter app for fear of sabotage.

“Twitter has blocked its developers from making changes to the app to prevent it being sabotaged by left-wing staff angry at Elon Musk’s” takeover, the Daily Mail writes.

Fox News personality Tucker Carlson points out that the Elon Musk freak out has led to “tyrants” grieving.

“Who are the tyrants? They’re anyone who is bothered by the idea that other people might get to talk. That is an unfailing test. It’s 100% accurate,” Carslon said during his Monday evening broadcast.

“Would you allow people who disagree with you to talk?” he continued. “If you wouldn’t, you were a tyrant and tonight the tyrants are grieving.”

Carlson then mocked the tyrants by showing a video he claimed was taken “inside Twitter headquarters.” In reality, it was a mashup of Clinton supporters crying and distraught over the results of the 2016 election.

“Sorry. Wrong tape,” he quipped.

On that note, Carlson’s Twitter account was reinstated hours after Musk purchased the Twitter platform.

“We’re back,” he wrote.

Can Musk Buy Facebook Too?
Not a bad idea!
APRIL 26, 2022

By Roger L. Simon for The Epoch Times

Two and a half cheers for Elon Musk!

He has, after some back and forth, just bought Twitter, easily the greatest achievement anyone has accomplished in years for the First Amendment and freedom of speech.

If he follows through on his pledge to end censorship at the site, he has struck a blow, possibly even a fatal one, on the evil billionaires—we all know who they are—that control virtually the entire global information flow to all the continents and all the ships at sea for their own advantage.

These billionaire owners of social media sites have been more successful in their censorship and thought control, at least by the numbers, than any dictators in history. (Population of China: 1.4 billion. Number with Facebook accounts: 2.9 billion.)

So why only two and a half cheers for Musk?

Well, there is that matter of the Tesla factory in communist China with—it’s rumored—much of the company’s future research to be conducted there. That would presumably include Space X, with vast military implications. Once the enemy of the totalitarians in Beijing, Musk has, alas, folded in with them.

But still, give the man his due. Becoming an international hero of freedom may encourage him to go further yet. Some of his openness may even permeate China—not likely, but who knows?

Musk has charisma to spare.

I may even have to buy one of his cars, even though—cool as its technology may be, especially if it ultimately allows the vehicle to drive itself, and snazzy as the Model X looks in red—I’m more than a little skeptical of its contribution to the environment.

Still, two and a half cheers … going on three. Or three-plus, if he ultimately helps move the overcrowded human race to Mars, putting paid to his online adversary Bill Gates, who, it seems, would prefer to depopulate us.

But the big loser in all this is Mark Zuckerberg, who looks almost as bad as his buddy General Secretary Xi Jinping.

Facebook has an estimated 15,000 (exact numbers vary) content moderators to restrict discussion or cancel those who don’t adhere to their master’s approved party line, dubbing their postings as “misinformation.” These junior censors work for something in the vicinity of $18 an hour for what, according to many reports, is an incredibly stressful job.

It’s much the same for Twitter with a lower number of censors, of course. Bad as Twitter has been—and it has been very bad (i.e., blocking reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop)—Facebook is even worse, just because of its remarkable reach.

Can Musk buy Facebook too?

And Google, while he’s at it, whose reach is greater still with its famous hidden algorithms that, through the ordering of links, exercise more subconscious thought control over world opinion than anything yet devised.

Maybe Oracle’s Larry Ellison, another billionaire with a modicum of free speech leanings, could buy one of them. We all know these guys are competitive.

As Musk’s deal approached closing today, lefties on Twitter erupted with #RIPTwitter and #DeleteTwitter trending, according to Fox.

I wouldn’t know. I had been off Twitter for several years, long before the Hunter Biden censorship. I had, on occasion, advised fellow conservatives to get off Twitter themselves, to stop sleeping with the enemy, and bankrupt the pernicious website.

Few, if any, did. Now, things are different. Or we hope they will be.

Should I go back?

Irrespective of its evident political bias, I had compared Twitter, and social media in general, to a form of online crack. We had to go back and back and back, even though we knew it wasn’t good for us, and that our time was better spent reading a book or even taking a walk.

That conundrum remains, even if Twitter becomes the town square that Musk envisions.

And what of Donald Trump? Should he return to the network that so famously excommunicated him while still giving public space to the likes of Ayatollah Khamenei?

If he does return, how would that affect his own burgeoning Truth Social?

Not simple, is it?

Nevertheless, thinking it through just a bit more, I have to relent and say, at least for now, a full-throated three cheers—not two and a half—for Elon Musk.

He has moved a moribund world forward. Facebook next?

Leftists Worried Elon Musk Will Turn Twitter Into A Place Where Terrible People Post Bad Opinions And Fight With Each Other All The Time

April 25th, 2022 - BabylonBee.com

U.S.—As Elon Musk inches closer to a deal to purchase Twitter, Leftists on the platform are worried the eccentric billionaire will turn the platform into a place where terrible people post bad opinions and fight with each other all the time.

"I'm worried Elon will turn Twitter into an awful place, where people say mean things. Can you imagine?!" said Twitter user Xander Piddlewonk. "What if he allows people on his platform who will fight and say terrible things and call each other names and try to cancel everyone? That would be horrible! I just may have to move to Canadian Twitter. Is there a Canadian Twitter?"

Experts agree that ownership by Elon risks dragging the platform down into an unprecedented cesspool of hate and vitriol and people saying despicable things just to get attention. Even worse, they're warning of a scenario in which Leftists have to defend their political opinions, Big Pharma has to defend its vaccine recommendations, and Conservative thinkers don't get silenced.

"He may even bring back... DONALD TRUMP! REEEEEEEE!" cried Piddlewonk before tearing at his clothing and diving out of a nearby window.

Seizing the moment, Mark Zuckerberg has invited everyone to move over to the Metaverse, which features robust and progressive content moderation, leading dozens and dozens of people to join.

Musk's Twitter Purchase Fails After 138,000 Board Votes Found Overnight
April 26th, 2022 - BabylonBee.com

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Elon Musk’s bid to purchase Twitter came up short after 138,000 board votes were found at 2 a.m., a company spokesman confirmed Tuesday. Musk had been in talks to purchase the company for $44 billion.

“We really thought Musk was going to pull this one out,” said Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal. “The yes votes had a strong lead when I went to bed last night, but that was before we counted all the mail-in votes that one of our employees found in locker 142 at the bus terminal.”

When the final votes were tallied, the takeover bid failed by a final tally of 10 votes for, 138,000 votes against. While the final result came as a shock to most observers, Agrawal said the election was fair. “Twitter takes election integrity very seriously,” he noted. “I can confidently say this was the most secure election in American history.”

A shocked Musk took to Twitter Tuesday to express his outrage. “Those ballots…that’s a whole big scam,” Musk tweeted. “The only way I could have lost is if this was rigged! I refuse to accept the results of this vote!”

Musk later tweeted that he was planning a demonstration at Twitter headquarters on May 6 to protest the results. His account was then permanently suspended by Twitter for questioning the integrity of the election.

"Government, in my humble opinion, should be formed to secure and to enlarge the exercise of the natural rights of its members; and every government, which has not this in view, as its principal object, is not a government of the legitimate kind." —James Wilson (1791)

FEATURED ANALYSIS

'Free Speech Absolutist' Musk Buys Twitter
As an actual African American buys the Big Tech giant, anti-speech leftists go bonkers.

Nate Jackson

We've been rooting for Elon Musk in his endeavor to buy Twitter because restoring the basic American principle of free speech to one of the major social media platforms will be a huge step in the right direction for a country increasingly controlled by the Orwellian Thought Police.

Well, good news: In a $44 billion deal announced Monday, Musk will acquire Twitter and take the company private. Despite the Twitter board's initial rejection and insertion of a poison pill, ultimately they decided that the "substantial cash premium" was the "best path forward for Twitter's stockholders."

Three cheers for free speech!

To be sure, Musk is an odd duck. "To anyone I've offended," Musk said last year during a "Saturday Night Live" opening monologue, "I just want to say, I reinvented electric cars, and I'm sending people to Mars in a rocket ship. Did you think I was also going to be a chill, normal dude?"

He's not exactly a conservative, though he's a self-described "free speech absolutist" and he's an entrepreneur with an eye for profitable ventures and a distaste for unions. He's the world's richest man, and, unlike the members of the socialist billionaires club, he's doing something with his wealth other than fund the leftist takeover of everything.

"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated," Musk said. "I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential — I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it."

The buyout is still a gamble on Musk's part. For a $21 billion personal equity stake (10% of his net worth), and a pledge of a third of his Tesla shares as collateral, it's a bet he sure hopes will pay off.

It's a good reminder that sometimes the best change can be brought about by the free market, not government intervention. That's assuming Twitter isn't destroyed from the inside by employees going rogue in the same way deep state actors sought to bring down Donald Trump.

"I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter," Musk proclaimed Monday, "because that is what free speech means." Indeed it is. That does not, however, mean Musk should or will continue to employ the aforementioned saboteurs — especially anyone ever involved in content moderation at Twitter.

What might be most hilarious about Musk's worst critics, though, is that they're just the worst.

Twitter is now the largest privately owned African American company in the world. You would think that Democrats would be celebrating that rather than whining and complaining. But alas.

"The deal is dangerous for our democracy," moaned Senator Elizabeth Warren. "Billionaires like Elon Musk play by a different set of rules than everyone else. We need a wealth tax and strong rules to hold Big Tech accountable." Oddly enough, Musk wants democracy to mean everyone getting a fair say and playing by the same rules — not a different set for conservatives than for leftists. Warren would rather confiscate Musk's wealth and punish "thoughtcrime."

"We need regulation of social-media platforms to prevent rich people from controlling our channels of communication," opined former Reddit CEO Ellen K. Pao ... on the pages of The Washington Post, which is owned by billionaire leftist Jeff Bezos.

Speaking of shocking lack of self-awareness, Bezos himself tweeted, "Did the Chinese government just gain a bit of leverage over the town square?" Says the man who started Amazon, which perhaps sells more Chinese goods than any other company. He did concede later, "My own answer to this question is probably not," but to quote Joe Biden, come on, man.

Which brings us to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who said, "The president has long been concerned about the power of large social-media platforms, the power they have over our everyday lives."

Dear Jen: How does Joe Biden feel about the fact that Twitter helped get him elected by censoring the New York Post's 100% verified and corroborated blockbuster about his son Hunter's laptop revealing family corruption? Does that power concern the president?

Twitter influencing elections certainly worries MSNBC's Ari Melber. Now, anyway. He fretted, "You could secretly ban one party's candidate, or all of its candidates, all of its nominees, or you could just secretly turn down the reach of their stuff and turn up the reach of something else and the rest of us might not even find out about it until after the election."

We're scratching our heads wondering if Melber was even alive from October 2020 through January 2021 because all of that actually happened and it happened before Musk even thought of buying Twitter.

Speaking of Donald Trump and his lifetime ban from Twitter, the former president says, "I am not going [back] on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH [Social]" — the social media company he started.

Musk does have his supporters, though, and that includes former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. "In principle, I don't believe anyone should own or run Twitter," Dorsey cautioned, but even he admitted, "Elon is the singular solution I trust."

Humorist David Burge joked, "If you think you're having a bad day, spare a thought for the Twitter person who decided it was a good idea to ban the Babylon Bee."

And speaking of that Bee ban, Allie Beth Stuckey observes, "What's remarkable is that one of the most stunning turns in the history of public discourse occurred because a satire account said a man is not a woman."

Veteran journalist Brit Hume brings it back to the central issue of censorship of free speech: "'Content moderation,' as it's called, is nothing but a euphemism for a very selective editing and censorship of viewpoints found disagreeable by those doing the 'moderation.' Musk is going to make it the open platform it was supposed to be. ... His view seems to be the old view that animated the Founding Fathers of our country, that the answer to objectionable speech is not less speech, it's more speech. As Thomas Jefferson put it, this is a country where we're not afraid to tolerate error so long as 'reason is free to combat it.' Content moderators don't want to combat it, they want to silence it. ... Free speech on Twitter is not going to harm America."

It will be interesting to see with algorithms exposed what implications Musk's ownership may have for Facebook and, moreover, what Musk may do to encourage political solutions to the suppression of free speech on competing platforms. Simply put, social media giants cannot simultaneously serve as the town square and the arbiters of what people are allowed to say about gender, a virus, or the climate.

Biden Blames Voters for His Incompetence
The president and leader of the Democrats exhorts voters by insinuating that they are lazy.

Thomas Gallatin

As Democrats are staring at the growing potential for a midterm bloodbath come November — and most of it thanks to Joe Biden's abysmal leadership, or rather the abysmal leadership of his handlers — Biden recently hit the campaign trail to gin up support. His first stop was the hard-left city of Portland, Oregon, where he sought to sell disillusioned Democrats on his latest big government spending plan, the $1.2 trillion "roads and bridges" infrastructure spending spree, all while berating the voters themselves.

Speaking at an Air National Guard base, Biden implored the crowd to look ahead: "Stop feeling sorry for yourselves, get the hell up, and take this country back." But the real question is, take it back from whom? Don't Democrats control both the executive and legislative branches? Don't they control education, the media, Big Tech, and entertainment?

In any case, what increasingly matters to a majority of Americans, according to recent polling, is Biden's runaway inflation. Inflation plagues American budgets precisely because of the federal government's record spending — and here Biden is proposing even more spending.

Making matters worse is the fact that his own administration is busy working to undermine the very infrastructure development message that Biden is preaching, using the National Environmental Policy Act to create a litany of new regulations that further increase the money and time required for any major construction project.

Voters aren't the Democrats' problem; Biden is. The record voters are faced with is exactly why Democrats are in trouble. And Democrats' record is why voters are in trouble. Chastising them for supposedly failing "to get up and take their country back" is ironically the exact opposite of what many voters have been doing. Voters in Virginia, for example, got up and took their state back by electing Governor Glenn Youngkin.

The most popular state governors are Republicans in states like Florida and Texas. Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott have stood up for their constituents' constitutional rights, facing off against Biden as he afflicts the country with needlessly divisive COVID vaccine and masking mandates, among other things.

"Granted, there are six months between now and the much-talked-about midterm elections, and a LOT can happen in those months," Mark Alexander observes. "But Biden and his Democrat Party are thoroughly mired down in a long list of Demo dung, including: Surging inflation; rising energy prices; an epidemic of violent crime; Biden's corrupt ChiCom family business; millions of illegal immigrants flooding the country as a result of Biden's reckless open-border policy; and now, after Biden's deadly surrender and retreat from Afghanistan, a deadly war in Ukraine on NATO's doorstep."

Biden is essentially blasting his voter base as lazy — a voter base stinging from his policy agenda that has left them poorer and disillusioned about the future. Perhaps Biden is aimlessly flailing about with little answer to a growing red wave that is threatening to not only sweep congressional Democrats out of power but further widen cracks forming within the Party.

Then again, such a strategy is hardly new for prominent Democrats. Hillary Clinton infamously blamed her loss on white women voters who just voted how their husbands or boyfriends told them to vote. Michelle Obama blamed black voters and young voters who didn't vote for allowing Donald Trump's victory. Barack Obama blamed Hispanic voters for not caring enough about Trump's supposed racism.

It's easy to say that blaming voters isn't a winning message, but Basement Joe Biden got 81 million* votes in the 2020 election after all this haranguing from other Democrats. Maybe that's why he's grabbing the rhetorical whip now.

Can Musk deliver on his vision for Twitter? Questions remain
Associated Press Apr 26, 2022

Tesla CEO Elon Musk stands to be the next owner of Twitter, having pledged roughly $44 billion to buy the social platform and take it private. Assuming that happens, next up on his agenda will be planning how to fulfill his promises to develop new Twitter features, open its algorithm to public inspection and defeat "spambots" on the service that mimic real users.

He'll also need to have the company start "authenticating all humans," as he described it in a statement quoted in the Monday press release announcing the acquisition. What exactly Musk meant by the phrase remains unclear.

So does the question of whether his ideas are technologically possible and how we'll know if these changes would benefit users or serve some other purpose.

Experts who have studied content moderation and researched Twitter for years have expressed doubt that Musk knows exactly what he is getting into. After all, there are plenty of fledgling examples of "free speech" focused platforms launched in the past few years as Twitter antidotes, largely by conservatives unhappy with the company's crackdowns on hate, harassment and misinformation. Many have struggled to deal with toxic content, and at least one has been cut off by its own technology providers in protest.

"This move just shows how effective (moderation features) have been to annoy those in power," said Kirsten Martin, a professor of technology ethics at the University of Notre Dame. "I would be worried as to how this would change Twitter's values."

The fact that no other bidders emerged in public before Musk's deal was a sign that other would-be acquirers might find Twitter too difficult to improve, said Third Bridge analyst Scott Kessler.

"This platform is pretty much the same one we've had over the last decade or so," Kessler said. "You've had a lot of smart people trying to figure out what they should do, and they've had trouble. It's probably going to be tough to make a lot of headway."

Musk received some effusive, if highly abstract, praise from an unexpected quarter — Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey, who praised Musk's decision to take Twitter " back from Wall Street " and tweeted that he trusts Musk's mission to " extend the light of consciousness " — a reference to Dorsey's notion that "Twitter is the closest thing we have to a global consciousness."

But others familiar with Twitter say they're still dismayed at Musk's successful bid for the company.

"Twitter is going to let a man-child essentially take over their platform," said Leslie Miley, a former Twitter employee who has also worked for Google and Apple. Miley, who was the only Black engineer at Twitter in a leadership position when he left the company in 2015, echoed doubts about Musk's grasp of the platform's complexities.

"I am not sure if Elon knows what he is getting," Miley said. "He may just find that having Twitter is a lot different than wanting Twitter."

The more hands-off approach to content moderation that Musk envisions has many users concerned that the platform will become more of a haven for disinformation, hate speech and bullying, something it has worked hard in recent years to mitigate. Wall Street analysts said if he goes too far, it could also alienate advertisers.

Musk has described himself as a "free-speech absolutist" but is also known for blocking or disparaging other Twitter users who question or disagree with him.

In recent weeks, he has proposed relaxing Twitter content restrictions — such as the rules that suspended former President Donald Trump's account — while ridding the platform of fake "spambot" accounts and shifting away from advertising as its primary revenue model. Musk believes he can increase revenue through subscriptions that give paying customers a better experience — possibly even an ad-free version of Twitter.

It won't be perfect, Musk added, "but I think we want it to really have the perception and reality that speech is as free as reasonably possible."

After the deal was announced, the NAACP released a statement urging Musk not to allow Trump, the 45th president, back onto the platform.

"Do not allow 45 to return to the platform," the civil rights organization said in a statement. "Do not allow Twitter to become a petri dish for hate speech or falsehoods that subvert our democracy."

As both candidate and president, Trump made Twitter a powerful megaphone for speaking directly to the public, often using incendiary and divisive language on hot-button issues. He was permanently banned from the service in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol.

"If Musk either fires or drives away the team at Twitter that's committed to keeping it clean and making it less hate-filled, he'll see an immediate drop in user activity," said said Siva Vaidhyanathan, a media studies professor at the University of Virginia. "I think he's going to find pretty fast that inviting the bigots back in is bad for business."

In Europe, officials reminded Musk about a new law, the Digital Services Act, that will force tech companies to step up policing of their online platforms.

"Be it cars or social media, any company operating in Europe needs to comply with our rules – regardless of their shareholding," tweeted Thierry Breton, the European Union commissioner in charge of the bloc's internal market. "Mr Musk knows this well. He is familiar with European rules on automotive, and will quickly adapt to the Digital Services Act."

Some users said Monday that they were planning to quit the platform if Musk took it over. To which he responded on Twitter: "I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means."

While Twitter's user base of more than 200 million remains much smaller than those of rivals such as Facebook and TikTok, the service is popular with celebrities, world leaders, journalists and intellectuals. Musk himself is a prolific tweeter with a following that rivals several pop stars in the ranks of the most popular accounts.

1 big thing: What to watch now that Tesla's boss has another side job

Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter could indirectly affect Tesla, Ben writes.

Why it matters: Tesla's on a hot streak, posting several quarters of record sales and profit despite the supply chain crunch.

But buying Twitter could influence consumer views of the world's top EV seller.
It means more competition for attention from Musk — whose hands-on approach has even meant sleeping on a Tesla factory floor — alongside his role as CEO of SpaceX and other pursuits.

It also thrusts him — and by extension Tesla — further into the political spotlight thanks to lawmakers' scrutiny of Big Tech and social media.

What they're saying: "We believe the biggest concern will be losing of Musk's attention around Tesla. Balancing Twitter, Tesla, and SpaceX is a tight wire act for Musk," Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives tells me.

Ives, via email, said this dynamic and Musk's pledge of Tesla shares to help finance the deal creates an "overhang" on Wall Street's perception of Tesla stock.

The intrigue: Musk occupies an unusual niche at the intersection of climate, tech and cultural politics.

He's a pioneer in electric cars, yet has drawn fans on the right for opposing COVID restrictions and his goal of less content moderation on Twitter.

Threat level: Alison Taylor, a New York University business ethics expert, sees "Tesla and regulatory risk as Musk's vulnerable flank," citing risks from several political directions.

She said via email that Republicans are happy about Musk's Twitter move because they hope he'll let Donald Trump back onto the platform.
If Trump isn't brought back, "there is a possibility that Tesla could be targeted by lawmakers for any number of issues," she tells me via email.

She also notes Tesla has faced allegations of racial discrimination and union-busting, while its showroom in China's Xinjiang region, where the Chinese government has been accused of carrying out genocide against Uyghur Muslims, has also drawn criticism.
"China and human rights is the only issue I can think of where AOC [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] and Ted Cruz actually agree with each other," Taylor notes.

What's next: iSeeCars.com executive analyst Karl Brauer notes some Tesla fans could be put off by Musk's approach to content, yet there are "longtime anti-Tesla folks convinced he’s going to save democracy."

"It’s entirely possible he’ll lose sales as a result of purchasing Twitter, but it’s also possible demand will grow from an entirely new set of consumers that never previously considered one," he said via email.

Bubble Wrap was invented as wallpaper.

Bubble Wrap is one of the 20th century’s most versatile — and dare we say most beloved — inventions. The pliable, air-pocketed sheets have been used for decades to insulate pipes, protect fragile items, and even make dresses. And that’s not to mention the fascination some people have with popping its bubbles (both competitively and for fun).

But when it was first created in 1957 in New Jersey, inventors Al Fielding and Marc Chavannes had a different vision in mind for their ingenious padding: home decor. The pioneering duo hoped their creation — which trapped air between two shower curtains run through a heat-sealing machine — would serve as a textured wallpaper marketed to a younger generation with “modern” taste.

The initial idea was a flop, however, and Fielding and Chavannes soon pivoted to promoting Bubble Wrap, then called Air Cap, as a greenhouse insulator (another idea whose bubble would quickly burst).

Flock wallpapers, known for their velvety feel and elaborate designs, were first crafted in the 17th century using leftovers from the wool industry. The thick, fuzzy panels were in part popular because installation required turpentine, the scent of which repelled moths.

It took another invention of the time — IBM’s 1401 model computer  — to seal Bubble Wrap’s fate as a packing material.

Under the company name Sealed Air, Fielding and Chavannes approached IBM about using the air-filled plastic in shipping containers, replacing traditional box-fillers like newspaper, straw, and horsehair. After passing the test of transporting delicate electronics, Sealed Air became a shipping industry standard.

Over time, Fielding and Chavannes were granted six patents related to Bubble Wrap manufacturing, and Sealed Air continues to create new versions of the remarkable wrap — including a cheaper, unpoppable version that’s popular with cost-minded shippers (but not so much with bubble-popping enthusiasts).

THINK TWICE
Bubble Wrap was nominated to the Toy Hall of Fame.
Some of the best toys aren’t toys at all — a phenomenon well-known to people who spend painstaking hours selecting gifts for kids only for the items to sit ignored in favor of the toy’s packaging.

That allure among the younger set helped secure Bubble Wrap a nomination to the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2016 as a non-traditional toy (akin to honorees such as the stick and the cardboard box). The poppable plastic didn’t become an official inductee, but its appeal has been replicated by the Pop It!, a squishable popping toy with a feverish following.

The silicone poppers provide endless snaps that some psychologists say can reduce tension and anxiety, making them especially popular during a stress-inducing pandemic. While the fidget toy seems like a modern solution to everyday jitters, Pop-Its were actually invented in 1975 by a former classmate of Anne Frank. Five decades later, reduced manufacturing costs have given the bubble-bursting toy a second chance at soothing anxious minds of all ages.

Joe Biden Leans On Big Tech To Conceal Numerous Crimes, Scandals
April 25, 2022

In what could be the least surprising statistics published this year, it’s now apparent that mainstream media outlets are nothing but the propaganda wing of the Democrat Party.

In a two-year time span, Big Tech censored President Joe Biden’s critics 646 times.

The censored cases, including deleted social media accounts or posts and those given “warning labels” that stopped people from sharing or commenting, were counted between March 2020 and March 2022 by Free Speech America’s Media Research Center.

Of the 646 cases, 140 involved the New York Post’s story about Hunter Biden’s laptop, with Twitter being the most aggressive censor.

The largest category of censored cases, however, included 232 posts that attempted to blast the president’s behavior with women and children.

One example came from Facebook, which reportedly deleted a user’s post for violating community standards on “nudity or sexual activity.”

The post claimed to show three photos of Biden kissing a little girl, said to be his granddaughter, on the lips with the caption: “Find someone who kisses you the way Joe Biden kisses his granddaughter.”

MRC also noted that Big Tech attacked posts quoting Biden’s own words. A cited example was from Instagram removing conservative outlet Breaking 911’s post quoting Biden about COVID-19 vaccines saying, “Freedom! … I have the freedom to kill you with my COVID. No, I mean, come on! Freedom?!” A screenshot from Instagram showed the post was removed for promoting “violence and incitement.”

Other censorship included posts that involved negative coverage of Biden concerning energy policy or rising inflation.

MRC’s CensorTrack team logged more than 3,600 overall cases of censorship against conservative outlets, people, or posts across multiple social media platforms. Overall, censored topics included discussion regarding elections, COVID-19, climate change, and race.

Such reports of censorship come as Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has been critical of social media censorship, offering to buy Twitter for $43 billion and vowing to take the company private so it can serve as “an inclusive arena for free speech” in which people “are able to speak freely within the bounds of the law.”

Once again conservatives were proven right!

Mainstream media outlets are the true enemy of the American people, not Vladimir Putin

How come all of these democrats, that are fully vaccinated keep testing positive for covid now?!
VP Kamala Harris Next In Long Line Of Democrats To Test Positive For COVID-19
APRIL 26, 2022

The White House announced on Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for COVID-19.

A statement from Harris’ Press Secretary Kirsten Allen was issued, saying,

“Today, Vice President Harris tested positive for Covid-19 on rapid and PCR tests. She has exhibited no symptoms, will isolate and continue to work from the vice president’s residence. She has not been a close contact to the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules. She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative.”

Harris is the latest in a number of top Democrats who have recently come down with the virus.

Not In Contact With The President
Thankfully, Harris was on a trip to California, and not in close contact with President Joe Biden or First Lady Jill Biden. Biden and Harris were last together on April 18 for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.

The Vice President has been vaccinated and received two booster shots.

Currently, there are no COVID restrictions in place in the White House. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said there are no plans to implement any. “We are continuing to implement the return-to-work policy and feel we have the measures necessary to do that.”

Democrat Outbreak In March
Back in March, the COVID bug spread through the Democrat Party during a retreat in Philadelphia. Joe Biden spoke at the event, but did not contract the virus. A total of seven Democrat House members who were at the Philadelphia meeting tested positive, as well as two who were not. Harris’ husband Douglas Emhoff also tested positive in March.

Earlier this month, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tested positive, after kissing the President on the cheek and holding his hand. At the time White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed it did not meet White House rules for close contact. Fox News Channel’s Peter Doocy asked Psaki about Pelosi’s close contact with the President,

“How can you guys say that President Biden was not a close contact with speaker Pelosi when there’s video of the speaker kissing him?” Psaki’s convenient answer, “Their definition of it is 15 minutes of contact within a set period of time, within six feet. It did not meet that bar.”

No Escaping COVID For Multi-Vaxxed Democrats
The outbreak that started in March seems to have carried over into April for the Democrats. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki battled her second bout of COVID in March, as did Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre

Following Washington D.C.’s annual Gridiron Dinner earlier this month, Attorney General Merrick Garland and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, along with  Harris’ communication director Jamal Simmons, also came down with the virus.

On Tuesday, along with Vice President Harris, Democrat Sens. Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) also announced positive COVID tests.

Viola Davis Fires Back After She’s Slammed For Michelle Obama Portrayal
After being panned for her portrayal of Michelle Obama, Viola Davis is firing back at her critics in a big way.
Apr 26, 2022

Last week, we reported that the Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis was being slammed for her portrayal of Michelle Obama on the Showtime original series “The First Lady.” Now, Davis is firing back at the “cruel” criticisms, which she says have been “incredibly hurtful.”

Davis Sounds Off
Davis told the BBC that while critiques are an “occupational hazard” of acting, she also finds it to be “incredibly hurtful when people say negative things about your work.”

“How do you move on from the hurt, from failure?” she questioned. “But you have to. Not everything is going to be an awards-worthy performance. But ultimately I feel like it is my job as a leader to make bold choices. Win or fail it is my duty to do that.”

Davis went on to slam professional reviewers, saying that critics “serve absolutely no purpose.”

“They always feel like they’re telling you something that you don’t know,” the 56 year-old star continued. “Somehow that you’re living a life that you’re surrounded by people who lie to you, and ‘I’m going to be the person that leans in and tells you the truth.’ So it gives them an opportunity to be cruel to you.”

Davis then said that playing someone as famous and beloved as Obama is “almost impossible.”

“Either you’re doing too much or not enough,” she said. “People know how they walk, how they talk and how they hold their pearls, so it’s very difficult.”

Davis Ruthlessly Mocked
Daily Mail reported that this came after Davis was ruthlessly mocked for her portrayal of Obama, with social media users saying that she was constantly making a duck face in the show.

“The director that made Viola Davis do that duck face may need to serve time,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “I love Viola Davis but the entire team of people behind all of this should get fired.”

“Why didn’t anybody stop you?” a third user wrote. “Why could they not even give you an actual make up artist? How will you ever face Michelle Obama after this?”

Davis ‘Hiding From Michelle’ Obama
Davis had previously admitted that playing Obama made her nervous.

“I’m glad it’s over!” she said before the show premiered. “I mean, the stress… Because everybody likes – loves – Michelle Obama. They know what she sounds like, they know what she looks like. And I’m like, ‘I don’t want Michelle Obama calling me, cussing me out.'”

When asked if she had reached out to Obama about the role, Davis replied, “I am hiding from Michelle. I’m hiding. I’m hiding in my house. I’m not sending her nothing. That’s the kind of thing where you have to prostate yourself on the floor and just go, ‘OK, Michelle, I messed up.'”

Unfortunately for Davis, it seems that that’s exactly what she’ll be doing, should she ever run into Obama somewhere.

Twitter employees go 'absolutely insane' in meltdown over Elon Musk's purchase:
'I feel like im going to throw up'

April 26, 2022

Many Twitter employees reportedly went "absolutely insane" on Monday after Elon Musk's acquisition of the social media platform was finalized.

What happened?
Immediately after the $44 billion purchase was announced, Twitter employees began voicing outrage and shock in private chat rooms. A New York Times reporter described internal communication channels as "absolutely insane."

"I feel like im going to throw up..I [really] don’t wanna work for a company that is owned by Elon Musk," one Twitter employee told a New York Times reporter.

"I don’t [really] know what I’m supposed to do…oh my god, my phone’s been blowing up," that employee continued. "I feel like he’s this petulant little boy and that he’s doing this to troll…he doesn’t know anything about our policies and what we do…his statement about our [algorithm] was f***ing insane… Were just gonna let everyone run amok?…nobody knows."

Another employee wrote in a since-deleted tweet that they were "in need of a stiff drink."

The Daily Beast reported that another Twitter employee wrote on Blind, an anonymous social media platform, that "Musk is dishonest, clueless and mentally ill." One employee even bashed fellow employees who support Musk, saying, "Elon fan boys are braindead mouth breathers."

Company leaders held an all-staff meeting with employees Monday afternoon. A chief concern among them was Musk's promise to transform Twitter into a platform that embraces free speech.

According to the Washington Post, employees are worried Musk will break down the "safeguards" Twitter has implemented "to protect" its users from content that Twitter deems is "harmful" or "unsafe" or misinformation. Other employees are worried about their permanent work-from-home situation, while others expressed concern about their company stock and whether layoffs are in the future, the New York Times reported.

However, some Twitter employees also expressed optimism about the future of their workplace.

"Elon did not tie up 20 percent of his net worth to destroy Twitter," one employee told the Washington Post. "I personally think a change like this may be what Twitter needs."

Even Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey endorsed Musk's purchase.

"In principle, I don't believe anyone should own or run Twitter," he reacted. "It wants to be a public good at a protocol level, not a company. Solving for the problem of it being a company however, Elon is the singular solution I trust. I trust his mission to extend the light of consciousness."

Anything else?
Despite the weeping and gnashing of teeth by some employees, Musk has not announced any changes to Twitter.

Instead, Musk released a statement after his purchase expressing desire to improve Twitter — not destroy it.

Twitter has tremendous potential — I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it," he added.

Meanwhile, Twitter locked out employees from making changes to Twitter's source code, preventing angry employees from sabotaging the platform, Bloomberg reported.
