Quotes From 10 Entrepreneurs on the Importance of Failure

When Albert Einstein said, “I think and think for months and years. Ninety-nine times, the conclusion is false. The hundredth time I am right,” he was making a powerful statement about failure: It’s inevitable — but it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Failure is one of the most powerful motivators we can encounter.

It pushes us to do better (after we get over the initial sting of the loss, of course). It encourages us to keep trying. And in a lot of cases, it can show us just how close we are to success. The trick is to think of it in a positive light: Failure is an agent of growth, not of defeat.

Entrepreneurs and innovators around the world have been using failure as motivation for centuries. Whether it’s something as simple as realizing that a single setback isn’t going to ruin your progress, or something more complex, like using the details of the failure to grow a success, it’s almost always a benefit.

These 10 quotes show that while everyone experiences failure at some point — and sometimes repeatedly — it doesn’t have to be a roadblock. Failure can actually be a force of positivity in our lives, even a necessary step in achieving our dreams.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
– Thomas Edison

Even if you fail at your ambitious thing, it’s very hard to fail completely.
– Larry Page

Failure and invention are inseparable twins.
– Jeff Bezos

I can accept failure. Everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying.
– Michael Jordan

With engineering, I view this year's failure as next year's opportunity to try it again. Failures are not something to be avoided. You want to have them happen as quickly as you can so you can make progress rapidly.
– Intel co-founder Gordon Moore

Failure is an event, not a person. Yesterday ended last night.
– Motivational speaker and business coach Zig Ziglar

In my experience, each failure contains the seeds of your next success — if you are willing to learn from it.
– Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen

There’s no such thing as failure. There are only results.
– Motivational speaker and business coach Tony Robbins

In a world that's changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks.
– Mark Zuckerberg

If things are not failing, you are not innovating enough.
– Elon Musk

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WATER OFFICIALS DECLARE WATER SHORTAGE EMERGENCY FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, RESTRICT OUTDOOR WATERING
April 27, 2022

Southern California officials Tuesday evening declared a water shortage emergency for the first time ever.

The Metropolitan Water District’s board declared a water shortage emergency and ordered SoCal residents to restrict outdoor watering to one day a week.

The restrictions will go into effect June 1.

Cities and water suppliers that get their water from the agency will face hefty fines if they don’t comply and exceed monthly water limits, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Parts of Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino counties will be required to cut back outdoor watering.

1/3 of our region – parts of LA, Ventura & San Bernardino counties – faces an emergency because of reliance on severely limited NorCal supplies. We're requiring these areas to cut back outdoor watering to 1 day a week, but need all #SoCal residents + businesses to save up to 30%.

KTLA reported:
A water shortage emergency was declared by Southern California water officials for the first time ever on Tuesday.

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California implemented an “Emergency Water Conservation Program,” restricting outdoor watering to one day a week in parts of Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino counties. The restrictions will take effect on June 1.

The action affects some 6 million residents and comes at a time when one-third of the region “faces an emergency because of reliance on severely limited NorCal supplies,” the agency said.

Since the water supply in California’s major reservoirs are at a record low, the Metropolitan Water District doesn’t have enough water to meet demand.

Cities and smaller water suppliers that get water from the district will need to find ways to cut usage or restrict outdoor watering.

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California
April 28, 2022

One-third of Southern Californians face new restrictions limiting outdoor watering to one day a week under an unprecedented action taken by Metropolitan to dramatically reduce water use in communities most affected by the state’s historic drought.

The restrictions, unanimously adopted by Metropolitan’s Board of Directors during a special meeting on Tuesday, apply to dozens of cities and communities in Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino counties – home to about 6 million Southern Californians.

While much of Southern California benefits from diverse water supplies, these communities depend on water from Northern California, via the State Water Project, and have limited or no access to water from the Colorado River or local resources.

With deliveries from the State Water Project severely reduced over the last three years because of drought, these communities face water shortages this year.

Metropolitan General Manager Adel Hagekhalil cautioned that if enough water isn’t conserved in the coming months, or if supply conditions worsen, all outdoor watering could be banned in these communities as early as September.

“The reality is, this drought has left us without the water supply we need to meet normal demands in these areas. To make sure we have enough water for their basic human health and safety needs, everyone in these communities must immediately and dramatically reduce their water use,” Hagekhalil said.

California drought, water cuts threaten 2022 food production
December 12, 2021

The state said it won't give any water from the State Water Project to farmers unless drought conditions improve. That could mean even higher food prices at a time when consumers are struggling with an ongoing pandemic and inflation across the board.

"The carryover water that got a lot of farmers through this past year is gone," said Mike Wade, executive director at the California Farm Water Coalition. Farmers will either have to pump groundwater, if they can, "or they're going to be fallowing a lot of farm land," he said.

Drought conditions in 2021 already contributed to rising prices for some food products, Wade said. Prices for tomato paste and crushed tomatoes, for example, increased 22% from January to April.

This is the first time since a devastating drought in 2014 that California's farmers have gotten a zero allotment for water from the state, said Ellen Hanak, vice president and director of the Public Policy Institute of California Water Policy Center. The state's more than 69,000 farms and ranches supply over a third of U.S. vegetables and two-thirds of its fruit. The annual almond harvest accounts for about 80% of global production.

Farmers are now hoping for rain and snow. California has had only one major storm this season, Wade said, but the state needs at least four more by spring in order to make a dent in the water deficit.

"We're not holding our breath," he said.

It can take time for land to bounce back from a significant drought. In November, "it rained substantially, but it didn't fill any reservoir 'cause the ground was so dry it immediately soaked the rain," said Reese Tisdale, president of water-analysis company Bluefield Research. "You don't rebound from a drought with one rain; sometimes it takes more than a year."

Some farmers are choosing to diversify and plant more long-term crops like nut trees, Wade said. But for almond farmers, drought means not only fewer nuts but smaller, lighter ones, too, said Richard Waycott, president and chief executive officer of the Almond Board of California.

The lack of water could lead to a reapportionment of agricultural land in California over the long term, Waycott said. Farmers might migrate to safer areas where water is typically more available.

"For a grower, it's an existential issue," Waycott said. "It's the 'can I survive another year doing this' thing. It's heart wrenching."

California drought leads to a black market for water
California's worst-in-history drought is creating a whole new revenue stream for water poachers.
Nov 12, 2014

The drought in California is bad — so very bad, in fact, that it’s created an illegal gold rush: Poachers are siphoning off fresh water with plans to sell it to the highest bidder.

If that sounds apocalyptic, it kind of is. While the State Water Resources Control Board has 22 employees tasked with investigating such crimes — “illegal diversions,” they’re called — there’s yet to be a concerted statewide effort to track (let alone control and punish) water theft. In some rural areas, wells are running completely dry; local law enforcement thinks the desperation drives theft, and they’re scrambling to keep up. Reports the National Journal:

Officials complain that the penalty for getting caught may not be sufficiently strict: Mendocino County counts water theft as a misdemeanor. County Supervisor Carre Brown considers that a slap on the wrist. “To me this is like looting during a disaster. It should be a felony,” Brown said. …

“This is something that’s very hard to pin down. If you don’t catch someone in the act, how do you prove they did it?” Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman said.

While there are fines in place for wasting water in California (overwatering lawns, say), there’s no great solution yet for this kind of opportunism — or desperation. In a record-breaking drought, California can’t afford lush gardens or leaky pipes, but folks are stealing thousands of gallons of water from schools, clinics, and fire hydrants. In Modesto, one man was caught stealing canal water for his miniature ponies.

Water is the new oil — and when the world’s largest companies are starting to worry about global water shortages, it’s especially scary. We’re one step closer to The Road Warrior, people.

Biden’s disinformation board WILL be weaponized against us

Fox News contributor Joe Concha argues Secretary Mayorkas and board executive Nina Jankowicz are the ‘last people’ who should be leading an effort on disinformation. #FoxNews

DHS Secretary Mayorkas says the Disinformation Governance Board won't monitor US citizens
May 01, 2022

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claimed that the recently announced “Disinformation Governance Board” that will be housed within his department will not monitor U.S. citizens.

The New York Post reported that Mayorkas made these claims on Sunday while defending the agency’s “eminently qualified” czar — Nina Jankowicz — who has been intensely criticized for hyper partisan worldview and questionable antics.

Mayorkas defended Jankowicz from questions by conservatives over her ability to fairly and accurately root out disinformation when she herself amplified disinformation that was favorable to the American political left and the Democratic Party. Jankowicz previously attempted to discredit the now authenticated and verified reporting by the New York Post in October 2020 on Hunter Biden’s laptop as disinformation.

Jankowicz also, at one point, heaped praise on Christopher Steele, the man who authored the discredit dossier that served as the basis for the thoroughly disproven Trump-Russia collusion hoax, Fox News reported.

Jankowicz was also widely mocked online for posting a TikTok video of herself singing a rendition of the song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” focusing on the alleged proliferation of disinformation online.

While appearing on “Fox News Sunday” with Bret Baier, Mayorkas said that he had no reservations about Jankowicz’s ability to perform her new role objectively and effectively.

Mayorkas said, “I don’t question her objectivity. There are people in the department who have a diverse range of views and they’re incredibly dedicated to mission. We’re not the opinion police.”

When discussing with CNN whether everyday Americans will end up being surveilled by the disinformation board, Dana Bash said, “It’s still not clear to me how this governance board will act and what it will do.”

Mayorkas replied, “So what it does is it works to ensure that the way in which we address threats, the connectivity between threats and acts of violence, are addressed without infringing on free speech, protecting civil rights and civil liberties, the right of privacy.”

He continued, “What it will do is gather together best practices in addressing the threat of disinformation from foreign state adversaries from the cartels and disseminate those best practices to the operators that have been executing in addressing this threat for years.”

The "Disinformation" board is anti-American

Charlie Kirk, TPUSA <donate@tpusa.com>

m86thecat@yahoo.com

Turning Point USA
Fellow American,

The radical Left is terrified that America-loving patriots at Turning Point USA are WINNING the next generation and the fight for freedom.

And now they're targeting ALL free-thinking Americans with their new "Disinformation Governance Board" -- a scheme that belongs in a Communist Dictatorship, not the Land of the Free!

Fellow American, as the Left steps up their attacks, it is now more important than EVER that TPUSA reaches as many of our younger generation as possible -- with our powerful, pro-America message -- before the Left gets to them.

Will you chip in your urgently needed gift of $8, $15, or $23 by TOMORROW at midnight? Everything is on the line for our country -- so generous supporters have offered to DOUBLE your donation, up to a total of $2 million.

With every advance from Turning Point USA in SAVING the next generation from the radical Left, the so-called "Elites" have lashed out with even more viciousness.

Make no mistake, Fellow American: if victory for the Left were inevitable, their insane propaganda would not be necessary.

The more the so-called "Elites" try to stop us, the more committed I am to doing EVEN MORE to reach young people with our inspiring, pro-America message.

My team and I travel from COAST TO COAST to meet with young people PERSONALLY and bring them the truth -- without Leftist Censors halting our message.

This type of outreach is more urgent and vital than it has ever been, and I'm counting on YOUR support to make sure we can do even more of it this year.

Turning Point USA is our 1) BEST DEFENSE against Leftists’ censorship schemes  and 2) BEST HOPE to save America. Please show you're with me: make a gift of $8, $15, or $23 right now ... and it will be DOUBLED thanks to generous supporters.

Stand with Charlie & TPUSA
Leftists have tried to...

-> SILENCE us on social media, with my personal account shut down for a month and a TPUSA field rep having her photos labeled "sensitive content"

-> BULLY us with vicious personal insults, like racist, sexist, hateful, and dangerous -- when it's their toxic ideologies that divide and damage the American people

-> FRIGHTEN us, with everything from pulling the fire alarm at my event with Candace Owens to a TPUSA student reporting he was attacked at his school (and you bet that I held a rally in support of him right away!)

But this year, with your partnership, Turning Point USA will do MORE THAN EVER with our 500,000+ America-loving student activists ... our powerful national network of 1,500+ student chapters ... and our 3 BILLION+ online views, putting TPUSA on nearly every device in America.

It's up to us -- everyday, regular citizens -- to empower young people to FIGHT for America and PUSH BACK against the Tyranny and Totalitarianism of the radical Left.

Your support is urgently needed, Fellow American. Please chip in $8, $15, or $23 by TOMORROW at midnight to have DOUBLE the impact in this critical fight.

'We're Not Gonna Let Biden Get Away With This': DeSantis Vows to Fight Biden's 'Ministry of Truth'
APRIL 29, 2022

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis says his state will fight President Biden’s plan to create a “Disinformation Governance Board” within the Department of Homeland Security, supposedly created to combat fake news and “protect election integrity” heading into November.

DeSantis, who is also currently leading the fight against “woke” Disney and its efforts to indoctrinate American children with radical LGBTQ propaganda, accused Biden of creating a “Ministry of Truth” to “put out false narratives.”

“We reject this bureau in the state of Florida,” DeSantis added. “We believe it’s essential that individual Floridians and Americans be able to speak out against false narratives trying to be jammed down our throats by this regime.”

“You cannot have a Ministry of Truth in this country,” he went on. “We’re not going to let Biden get away with this one. We will be fighting back.”

“What they want to do is they want to be able to put out false narratives without people being able to speak out and fight back,” DeSantis added. “They want to be able to say things like ‘Russian collusion’ and perpetuate hoaxes and have people like us be silenced.”

The administration has claimed that the board will keep tabs on foreign-originated messages that attempt to influence U.S. elections, as well as messaging being sent to Central America urging migrants to illegally enter the United States.

However, Biden’s move to tap Nina Jankowicz to head up the “disinformation” wing is particularly concerning, given her open dismissal of the Hunter Biden laptop bombshell as baseless pro-Trump propaganda, and her publicly stated opposition to Elon Musk’s Twitter buy-out.

ESPN Announcer Sues Network for Allegedly Violating Her Free Speech Rights

ESPN anchor Sage Steele is taking the network to court over what she alleges are violations of her free speech rights over comments made on a podcast last year.

Appearing on former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler’s program, Steele called ESPN’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate policy “sick.” She then remarked that it was “fascinating” that former President Barack Obama chose “Black” on his census form “considering his Black dad was nowhere to be found.”

Steele, who is biracial, added that her White family loves her as much as her Black family. She then addressed the #MeToo movement, saying that women should take responsibility for clothes they wear around men and noted her development of a “thick skin” from working around athletes.

ESPN, far from simply being a network for sports fans, jumped head first onto the woke train in recent years and has no room for dissent. The blowback, according to Steele, was immediate.

After the tiresome meltdown by leftists on social media, the anchor says ESPN forced her to apologize. But even further, she alleges that the Disney subsidiary punished her by taking away top assignments and allowing colleagues to retaliate and harass her. The suit describes “selective enforcement” concerning network employees who were vocal on political and social issues.

In a statement, ESPN responded by saying that Steele is a valued contributor and, “as a point of fact, she was never suspended.” She counters that, after testing positive for COVID-19 and having to be absent, the company described her as being “sidelined” and “taking a break,” which the suit says are euphemisms for being suspended.

The filing says that multiple media outlets reported that she was absent from the network at that time for a disciplinary matter. However, it asserts ESPN did nothing to counter the claims because it stood to benefit from the perception that it took punitive action over her statements.

The days of sports being a distraction or refuge from the issues of real life are far behind, and the enjoyment of competition is often overshadowed by unnecessary social or political intrusions. And now it’ll be lawyers and likely a jury who decide the fate of an outspoken announcer who ran afoul of the woke mob.

White House Flips Out Over Conservatives Controlling The Net
April 28, 2022

After Twitter accepted billionaire Elon Musk’s bid for the firm, the White House raised concerns about social media platforms earlier this week.

“The president has been concerned for a long time about the impact that huge social media platforms have on our daily lives, no matter who owns or runs Twitter,” White House press sec. Jen Psaki said in the daily briefing.

Peksi said she was not in a position to comment on the purchase itself, but she did talk about the president’s views on social media.

“Our worries are not new,” Durbin said. “We’ve been talking about it for a long time, and the president has spoken out against the power of social media sites like Twitter and others to spread misinformation.”

Earlier this week, Twitter announced its agreement with Musk to sell him the business for $54.29 per share.

“Free speech is the basis of a functioning democratic nation, and Twitter is the online town square where critical topics affecting humanity are discussed,” Musk said in a comment announcing the collaboration.

Biden has a long-standing hatred for Twitter, particularly as President Donald Trump has used it to savage his political rivals.

Psaki said social media websites had a responsibility to take their part in the public square seriously, but that the Biden team would not comment on Musk’s intentions for the platform at this time.

“We don’t know what the policies will be at this point,” she said.

Despite the planned sale of Twitter and a possible change in ownership, Psaki said the White House would likely continue to interact with Twitter on problems of misinformation.

“I believe we interact with all social media sites on a regular basis,” she added. “There are also changes that Congress could take.”

“Legislative changes supported by the president include greater transparency, anti-trust measures, and reform of Section 230,” she said.

Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act
47 U.S.C. § 230, a Provision of the Communication Decency Act

Tucked inside the Communications Decency Act (CDA) of 1996 is one of the most valuable tools for protecting freedom of expression and innovation on the Internet: Section 230.

This comes somewhat as a surprise, since the original purpose of the legislation was to restrict free speech on the Internet. The Internet community as a whole objected strongly to the Communications Decency Act, and with EFF's help, the anti-free speech provisions were struck down by the Supreme Court. But thankfully, CDA 230 remains and in the years since has far outshone the rest of the law.

Section 230 says that "No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider" (47 U.S.C. § 230). In other words, online intermediaries that host or republish speech are protected against a range of laws that might otherwise be used to hold them legally responsible for what others say and do.

The protected intermediaries include not only regular Internet Service Providers (ISPs), but also a range of "interactive computer service providers," including basically any online service that publishes third-party content. Though there are important exceptions for certain criminal and intellectual property-based claims, CDA 230 creates a broad protection that has allowed innovation and free speech online to flourish.

This legal and policy framework has allowed for YouTube and Vimeo users to upload their own videos, Amazon and Yelp to offer countless user reviews, craigslist to host classified ads, and Facebook and Twitter to offer social networking to hundreds of millions of Internet users. Given the sheer size of user-generated websites (for example, Facebook alone has more than 1 billion users, and YouTube users upload 100 hours of video every minute), it would be infeasible for online intermediaries to prevent objectionable content from cropping up on their site.

Rather than face potential liability for their users' actions, most would likely not host any user content at all or would need to protect themselves by being actively engaged in censoring what we say, what we see, and what we do online. In short, CDA 230 is perhaps the most influential law to protect the kind of innovation that has allowed the Internet to thrive since 1996.

CDA 230 also offers its legal shield to bloggers who act as intermediaries by hosting comments on their blogs. Under the law, bloggers are not liable for comments left by readers, the work of guest bloggers, tips sent via email, or information received through RSS feeds. This legal protection can still hold even if a blogger is aware of the objectionable content or makes editorial judgments.

The legal protections provided by CDA 230 are unique to U.S. law; European nations, Canada, Japan, and the vast majority of other countries do not have similar statutes on the books. While these countries have high levels of Internet access, most prominent online services are based in the United States. This is in part because CDA 230 makes the U.S. a safe haven for websites that want to provide a platform for controversial or political speech and a legal environment favorable to free expression.

EFF works to ensure strong legal protections for Internet intermediaries and endeavors to fight threats that would weaken such protections for intermediaries and users. We realize that a combination of technology policy and law protecting intermediaries ultimately helps uphold freedom of speech online.

NOTE: This summary of CDA 230 isn't a substitute for, nor does it constitute, legal advice. Only an attorney who knows the details of your particular situation can provide the kind of advice you need if you're being threatened with a lawsuit. The goal of these pages is to give you a basic roadmap to the legal issues surrounding the interactive computer services covered by CDA 230.

Is Putin going to start a nuclear war?

Below is a photo of the “last public appearance” of the Italian tyrant, Benito Mussolini, his mistress and two of his cronies. Two days after Mussolini’s death, Hitler killed himself rather than face the same. Should Putin start a nuclear war over Ukraine, history indicates this is the type of fate he could expect at the hands of his own people.

‘You failed!’ Maher takes Twitter to the woodshed over Hunter Biden laptop story, COVID lab theory
April 30, 2022

Despite histrionics from the left over Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, including woke staffers at the social media company, true proponents of free speech have emphasized the inherent necessity of the First Amendment including HBO’s Bill Maher who decried the overly sensitive culture that led to the demand for “a new sheriff.”

During Friday’s “Real Time” panel, Maher was joined by MSNBC’s Ali Velshi and former Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) where, among other topics, they discussed the billionaire’s recent acquisition. His progressive guests claimed to be in favor of the First Amendment while defending focused censorship on the platform particularly as it pertained to anonymous users, but Maher took a different tact.

“The argument to me is, has Twitter failed in setting themself up in the past as the judge of what can go out there? And I would say yes, you have. You failed when you threw the New York Post off of Twitter for talking about Hunter Biden’s emails. And it turned out that was a real story. You failed when you said we couldn’t read about whether COVID had come from a lab. You failed!” Maher said.

Bringing up marks against The Babylon Bee, which Maher claimed to have never heard of and described as the “Christian version of The Onion,” the comedian defended their right to satire as he called out the Twitter censors for lacking self-awareness.

“‘Sensitive content,’ Twitter said. In the video, they were making fun of Twitter for being too sensitive. This is so ‘Through the Looking Glass!'” he said.

Maher described the video where a Twitter employee seeks counseling after experiencing trauma from Musk’s purchase of the company. “If he buys our free speech platform, people will be able to have free speech on our platform,” she says in the skit.

“This is well within what satire has always been,” Maher continued. “And the fact that they flagged this for being insensitive shows their complete lack of self-awareness about what their own problem is. If that’s where the line is, you have failed Twitter. You do need a new sheriff.”

He later went on to say, “Twitter could be a place where you might see an opinion that you didn’t formerly consider, and we need that desperately in America,” before calling out former President Barack Obama for suggesting Generation Z has the capability to sort out these problems as he pushes efforts to combat “disinformation.”

“I’d much rather have Elon Musk making the rules than a 23-year-old who can’t take the joke on Babylon Beeswax, or whatever the f*ck that is,” Maher expressed. “I mean, this is a generation that doesn’t know what the word ‘violence’ means. They think ‘violence’ means ‘anything I don’t like.’ Their standard of free speech is ‘I’m uncomfortable.’ That’s not where the standard is, right?”

“Civics doesn’t exist anymore,” he expressed, decrying the state of education in America. “They don’t know … ‘Free speech? What the f*ck does that mean? It hurt my feelings.’ That’s what matters to them. That’s what I worry about. I mean, I hear it all the time.”

Psaki Counters Biden Warning of Food Shortages

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki backtracked a warning issued by Joe Biden this week when she told a reporter that “we are not expecting a food shortage here at home.”

During Tuesday’s press briefing, Psaki said the administration is “acting to bolster food security around the globe,” dismissing the threat of supply chain challenges domestically. In doing so, she also signaled the White House commitment to support foreign countries in favor of American consumers.

Psaki did her best to reassure the media that supporting the ongoing war in Ukraine will not harm ordinary Americans. Her apparent confidence stands in stark contrast to Biden’s warning issued last month while he was traveling in Europe to promote U.S. involvement in European affairs.

Biden said in Belgium that he had spoken with NATO allies about food shortages, and said, “It’s going to be real.” He admitted then that the sanctions being imposed would not only impact Russia, but would also create food supply problems for many countries, including those in Europe and the U.S.

The White House is now telling the country that there are no expected shortages at home in an effort to soften Biden’s statement to European allies that sanctions would create those very shortages.

It is possible that the administration is aware of the problems that could arise if Biden’s current statements that shortages are just a “price” Americans must pay to support a European war are compared with his earlier campaign statements. During the 2020 presidential race as the COVID-19 pandemic hammered the country, Biden said the country “doesn’t have a food shortage problem, we have a leadership problem.”

Now that food shortages are a real prospect amid the worst inflation seen in the U.S. in over four decades, the administration’s approach seems to be a shift to pretending the problems do not really exist. At least, it seems they are laying the framework to lay blame elsewhere for the real prospect of greater economic troubles that are on the way.

23 Lost Survival Skills
Your Ancestors Had

It’s one thing to prepare for a temporary disaster like an earthquake or hurricane. It’s a whole other thing to prepare for a long-term disaster that cripples the power grid, communication systems, and transportation networks. Without those, we’d basically be living in the 1800s again.

Back then things were very different. People were more hands-on. To get through day-to-day life, they needed all sorts of skills that many people have never even heard of. These skills were so commonplace that they were often taken for granted. The average pioneer may have thought, “How could anyone not know how to make soap?”

The modern world has made life so easy that there’s simply no need to learn pioneer skills. But if we face a big enough disaster, that will change fast. Below is a list of 17 lost survival skills that are worth learning if you really want to be prepared for the end of the world as we know it. If your ancestors were able to learn these skills, then so are you.

https://urbansurvivalsite.com/lost-survival-skills-ancestors/

12 Basic Skills Most People
Don’t Have Anymore

Emergency preparedness, self-reliance, and what we call survival skills today used to be the way of life for most of the population.

While there are some groups of people today that live by the old ways, more and more the skills that are needed to do so are disappearing in exchange for dependency, comfort, and convenience. There are groups of people though that live off the grid or a simpler lifestyle in which the old way of doing things is still a part of their everyday life.

If most people are being honest with themselves, prepping and learning survival skills has become more of a hobby and an insurance policy. Many people do not practice the knowledge they have in the real world (hands-on experience) enough for it to become a skill.

Why is this important? Because of the same reason we all prepare. One day everything that has made our lives easier to live may go away, either deliberately taken away or just gone due to circumstance.

Let’s take a look at some skills that use to be commonplace that are now fading into the shadows among the majority of the population. Please note that some of the skills listed below may not be essential to your survival but knowing them could certainly make life easier and better.

Be On Your Guard: Watch Out For These 12 Dangerous Cults
Faith Tips
April 25th, 2022 - BabylonBee.com

The Bible tells us to be on our guard against people who preach a different gospel. Let them be accursed, Paul says. Wow, that's pretty savage, Paul! Here are twelve dangerous cults to watch out for:

1. CrossFit - One of the most popular fitness cults in the world. Don't drink the low-calorie, high-protein Kool-Aid!

2. Essential oils - These dangerous witches brew their Satanic concoctions from tiny bottles of dark magic. Many housewives are succumbing to their demonic wiles.

3. Doctor Who fandom - Stay far away.

4. Blue Oyster - Their main teaching is not to fear the reaper, which seems foolish. The reaper can kill you!

5. Climate change alarmists - These crazy wackos are always predicting the end of the world, shouting at passersby on street corners that the end is near. Loonies!

6. Reformed bros with beards and craft beer - Their theology may not be cultish, but any group wearing that much matching flannel is definitely sus.

7. Jordan Peterson fans - Characterized by eating lots of elk meat, cleaning their rooms religiously, and hosting back-alley lobster fights.

8. Toyota Tacoma drivers - It consumes their entire personality.

9. The weirdos still wearing masks - At least you can spot these cult members from a mile away so you can keep your distance.

10. People who main Jigglypuff in Smash Bros. - This cult is real and it's so destructive. Jigglypuuuuuuuuuuff!!!

11. Californians - Ugh. Californians.

12. People who believe this entire universe was created from nothing and all life magically came from sludge - No amount of reasoning can convince these zealots otherwise.

If any of these cults knocks on your door and asks if you have time to discuss their ideas, slam the door in their face!

"Mankind was not made to suffer. Bliss is our nature."
-David Lynch
Saturday, April 30, 2022

Throughout his long career as a filmmaker and artist, David Lynch has recognized the tension between suffering and happiness that is essential to great storytelling. Despite the dark themes and difficult challenges his characters often face, the Twin Peaks creator feels that humans were not created to endure constant sorrow. Instead, we have an innate desire — and capacity — to experience pure happiness and joy.

Mike Lindell returns to Twitter, gets immediately banned again
VIDEO
May 01, 2022

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell announced on Sunday that he was back on Twitter after being permanently banned in 2021 for allegedly spreading conspiracy theories about voting machines being fixed to sway the 2020 presidential election.

"Hello everybody, I'M BACK ON TWITTER. My only account is @MikeJLindell! Please RT and FOLLOW to SPREAD THE WORD," Lindell said on Twitter Sunday afternoon.

Lindell confirmed his return to Twitter in person during former President Donald Trump's rally in Nebraska:

But Lindell's new account was quickly flagged by blue-check tattlers on the platform:

And within hours, the pro-Trump pillow guy was back in Twitter exile...

...much to the delight of certain self-appointed speech police:

I reported him too - looks like Twitter is doing the right thing today!

CNN guest's appearance goes viral as he delivers hysterical rant on the need to control unfettered free speech
May 02, 2022

Journalist and author David Zurawik appeared on Sunday's broadcast of "Reliable Sources," where he went into panic mode as he delivered frenzied remarks on what he said is the necessity of being able to moderate free speech.

Sunday's roundtable discussion on the CNN show featured host Brian Stelter, reporter April Ryan, Zurawik, and more.

What are the details?
During the episode, Zurawik addressed Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's Twitter acquisition, which he said is nothing short of "dangerous."

"When we focus on the personality of people like Elon Musk ... there's a bigger problem about how we are going to control the channels of communication in this country," he warned. "In 1927, we had the Radio Act. In 1934, the Communications Act. Congress stepped in; we made rules."

The Federal Communications Commission, he added, "wasn't great, but it is still regulating the broadcast industry."

"We gave over our what amounts to our airwaves, or our internet waves, to Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, and we are in so much trouble," Zurawik insisted. "Because those guys believe in making money. We've already seen that with the 2016 election and Zuckerberg when he was taking rubles for ads from Russia and saying, 'Oh I think it's crazy to think that they had any influence on this election.'"

Don't miss out on content from Dave Rubin free of big tech censorship. Listen to The Rubin Report now.
Musk, he added, is the much the same — and that the United States has quickly descended into chaos following the election of former President Donald Trump.

"This is dangerous!" he shouted. "We can't think any more in this country — we don't have people ... in Congress who can make regulations that can make it work. I think we can look to the Western countries in Europe for how they are trying to limit it, but you need — you need — controls on this. You need regulation. You cannot let these guys control discourse in this country or we are headed to hell. We are there. Trump opened the gates of hell and now they’re chasing us down."

This is Joe Biden’s nut house. We're just living in it.
The Nurse Ratched of Disinformation
Nina Jankowicz says she’s “committed to protecting free speech.” LOL.

When we first heard Alejandro Mayorkas announce a Department of Homeland Security "Disinformation Governance Board," we thought he was trolling. Then he said Nina Jankowicz, best known as TikTok’s "Mary Poppins of Disinformation," would head it. LOL, as the kids say. Right out of the gate, Jankowicz trumpeted her "committment [sic] to protecting free speech."

Apparently Mayorkas is serious, and the administration is rolling out Jankowicz, author of the new book "How to Be a Woman Online," as a "renowned expert in the field of disinformation." That’s true, though she’s more a practitioner of the craft than an expert in combating it. Jankowicz condemned the New York Post's reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop as a "Russian influence op" and fanned the bogus claim that the Steele dossier began as a "Republican opposition research project." These are fine examples of Democrats, as Washington Free Beacon man of the year Matt Yglesias explained in a recent analysis, using the "disinformation" charge as a scapegoat for losing voters.

As for her commitment to unfettered speech, Jankowicz told her friends at National Public Radio last month that she "shudder" to think about a scenario in which "free speech absolutists were taking over more platforms" and bemoaned so-called "awful but lawful content." The solution? "Law enforcement and our legislatures," she said, must "do more."

Mayorkas, meanwhile, is busy tamping down the concerns of proles like us that the Nurse Ratched of disinformation will have any power. "The board does not have any operational authority or capability," he told CNN's Dana Bash. "What it will do is gather together best practices of addressing the threat of disinformation from foreign state adversaries, from the cartels, and disseminate those practices to the operators that have been executing and addressing this threat for years." Sounds like disinformation to us.

The administration dispenses Orwellian lies on a daily basis. We may be in a recession, but that’s just masking a broader recovery! That $3.5 trillion spending bill actually costs zero dollars! And, per Mayorkas jawboning on another topic on Sunday, the administration has done a fine job managing a ballooning crisis on the southern border.

This is Joe Biden’s nut house. We're just living in it.

Top 8 Active Volcanoes That Could Threaten Your Life
March 9, 2021
Volcanoes are disastrous and dangerous, but it is because of volcanoes that land exists. Initially, volcanoes might seem destructive, but it turns out to be the other way around after the dust has settled. For example, lava rivers are known to destroy fertile land and destroy the landscape, but with time, these rivers break down, releasing lots of nutrients and leaving behind a remarkably fertile land.

Biden Won’t Run In 2024
A good bet.

As this writer has been saying for months, 2024 will not be a rematch of 2020, as neither of the previous nominees will be on the presidential ballot in the general election. Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer agrees with part of that contention.

Fleischer: President Joe Biden reportedly told former President Barack Obama he will run for re-election. It doesn’t matter what Biden tells anyone today. What matters is what is about to happen in November.

In a little over six months, Republicans will likely win the House and the Senate. As important as Election Day 2022 will be, what happens the next day will be more significant.

That’s the day the Democrats will turn on President Biden. It’s the day that the whispering campaign among Democrats about whether a soon-to-be 80-year-old man is in good enough health, politically and cognitively, to be the man at the top of the ticket in 2024, will burst into the open.

It’s inevitable. The stop Biden drumbeat will grow every day, whether it takes weeks or a few months, until Biden acknowledges reality and declares he will not run for re-election.

The notion that an unpopular party, on the heels of a major midterm defeat, will want an unpopular, 80-year-old whose health and vigor are in decline, to lead it into the future is the stuff of fantasy. Among Democrats today, it may be good manners not to talk about it, but it’s time to stop pretending. Joe Biden will have no choice and won’t run.

Democrats have never loved Joe Biden. But they did love Biden’s ability to defeat Donald Trump. Despite Biden’s losses in the first three presidential nominating contests in 2020 (Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada), Biden won the Democratic nomination because of the Democrats’ deep desire to throw Trump out of the White House.

Recent polls show Trump is now beating Biden. According to the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll published by The Hill, Trump is ahead of Biden by 6 points. According to the latest presidential poll by FiveThirtyEight, Trump is ahead of Biden by 4 points. On the heels of defeat in November, the Democrat Party and its leaders will be in a surly mood.

On the one hand, they know that both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama came back from massive defeats in their first midterm elections to be re-elected to the White House two years later. Is Biden, Democrats will wonder, another Clinton (then aged 50) or Obama (then aged 51) Or will he remain an 80-year-old in decline, who defeated Trump, but now it’s time for him to go?

In 2019, 28 Democrats ran for president. Who can forget Beto O’Rourke, Michael Bloomberg, Marianne Williamson, or Andrew Yang, to name a few, in addition to Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris? Democratic primary debates took place over two consecutive nights given how many candidates there were.

Many of these people, along with new contenders (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez possibly), will want to run, beginning immediately after November 2022. The day after Election Day, they will want to plan how and when to run, who to hire, and what donors they can line up.

They know that the longer Joe Biden insists he is running, the harder it will be for the party to organize an alternative. They’ll start to maneuver quickly after Election Day 2022 to save the party and the country. They’ll want Biden out of the way. In 2018, Elizabeth Warren and Julián Castro announced exploratory committees in December, just one month after the midterm election.

Five other Democratic candidates declared their candidacies or exploratory committees two months after the midterm, in January 2019…It’s too soon to know who will win in 2024, but in 2023, Joe Biden will be a lame duck and Democrats will breathe a sigh of relief.
