Hey ya Telloman. It's deadset yours if ya want it. Nope not sent yet. Its 16 inches across, 8 inches deep, and weighs about 3.4 kilos. (give or take some bird crap, spider webs..7.5 pound) Guess thats NOT drummer jargon but... Your right it does have 2 peep holes, cant see JACK in there though. Might be made of stainless steel? bit a wood? heap of adjuster thingos, maybe a clip to hang it round ya horse or neck or whatever blows ya hair back. The side with those 8 strings/bands across it is splittin'. Dunno nothing about it except the grandfather played it in processions, bands about the 1920's. Whether it came from WW1 can't tell ya. Seriously how would I ship it? airmail? sea? parcel? Give us some clues and I'll make the trip to town.

Yes GCC: I told ya before the time ya offered it to me. Where that post is...is anybody's guess.

By memory:

Wrap it up in Bubblewrap, 6 inches thick. Tape it tight. NO tape on the drum.

Get a heavy duty shipping box, several inches larger than the bubble drum.
Pack the bottom with packing stuff (more bubble, newspaper, etc...)

Insert drum. Pack the hell into the sides and top.

Close box. Triple tape it tight.

In large red ink: FRAGILE; You break-You die.

Cupie.... I absolutely envy you. Had two shepherds here some years ago. They were beautiful. Both dies within 3 months of each other.

Idea! Would you consider swapping them for a Beagle and a Labrador? Both come with a complimentary cat!

LOL...not a chance Loco.....Labradors around here spend their life in the creek and bay...lol....more like a duck than a dog....lol.

I wuvs me big dogs....they just are...!!!!

We don't have cats....no offense, they don't belong in Australia, and they disseminate native bird and marsupial populations.....at one point here we had one woman who wouldn't get her cat desexed and it just kept breeding and breeding....it wasn't long before those cats were hunting in packs and ripping apart King Parrots, Gallahs, Lorikeets, whatever they could get their diseased jaws around.

I rang the Wildlife organisations but they couldn't help until the animal/bird was injured..... and also RSPCA...I told them that if this woman was not given some kind of parameters, I would poison the cats if they entered my property...no word of a lie...it was like the killing fields around here for a while.....They said that if I did that, they'd fine me for cruelty, to which I argued that I was in fact preventing cruelty to NATIVE animals that belong here, some of which are highly protected......pack of wonkers. Cats destroy native animal populations....and no offense, I have no time whatsoever for them in the bush. The only good feral cat is a dead feral cat. I don't criticise responsible cat owners, but I believe cats should be banned in bushland areas in particular.

Watch all the cat lovers come out of the woodwork over that.....lmao.

I well understand your thoughts on feral cats. The ones here on offer actually move out of the road to allow doves to collect tidbits. I think they're pretty well fed.

And regarding the rules as applied by RSPCA..... you should well know that the laws are there to protect the crooks...... not the innocent!

I know you couldn't give her up...ya nong...lol....She'd haunt you...I could never give up one of me puppy bags.....We also have two small dogs that were basically abandoned on us....the owner said she'd find them a home after moving to a flat, but she didn't and I got stuck with them.....not a fan of small dogs, but you get used to tripping over them eventually....lol

Well.... sadly Cupie - Yes, you're right. We couldn't part with any of them. So you too are a collector? We used to have two dogs and a cat. The other animals chose to adopt us - as they had no homes. They all found one here.

Now.... back to the Beagle.... I was seriously considering applying for government funding to make a movie about a new moon landing. The venue was to be our back yard. Best moonscape you've ever seen.

I thought we were gaining a little dog. Turns out to be the best piece of farm machinery I've ever seen! Let me know if ever you need a tractor / dozer - or random grade grader!

Whoops - also excellent for tree planting.... no need to dig your own holes - mind you, his ideas for placement do appear to be a little sus.

Now that's what they're supposed to do. This bloke would only argue with a fox over a caught rabbit. We took him up the country a while ago. He thought he'd try his luck in chasing a Kangaroo. He discovered that wasn't really a good idea.... when the Roo turned the tables on him. Now he stays wherever we are.

He's actually a very gentle little post hole digger that exhibits very little to nil recoil. But crikey - he uses some fuel!

Gym advert warned 'fatties' would be eaten by aliens

One of Britain's biggest health clubs has been criticised as insensitive for putting up a sign warning overweight people that they would be eaten by aliens.

The advert was meant to encourage people to join up and lose those excess pounds put on over Christmas - but it has had the opposite effect.

The sign, which features a green alien, read: "Advance health warning! When the aliens come, they will eat the fatties first."

It then goes on to urge people to take up a special offer to join the health club and spa attached to Cadbury House hotel in Bristol.

But it prompted an angry reaction from some people in the local community, with residents saying it is offensive to those struggling with their weight.

The club, which is one of the largest independent health clubs in the UK, has two purpose-built studios along with a spa, salon and bistro. It employs a team of personal trainers and offers more than 100 fitness classes each week.

Vicky Palmer contacted the health club to complain after seeing an advert similar to the sign in a local newspaper. Mrs Palmer, who had an eating disorder as a teen, said the sign and adverts should be removed.

"I am not overweight yet I still find this extremely offensive and patronising, but how much more so to someone genuinely overweight?," she said.

Yatton councillor Tony Moulin described the sign as "tacky". Mr Moulin said: "I think this sign is insensitive, tacky and could cause offence to some people."

Manager at the health club Jason Eaton said: "The alien campaign has been developed as a tongue in cheek look at the fact that people, generally, over the Christmas period do put on a little weight.

"We do not intend to cause any offence to anyone."
