Everybody has a job. Mike did his, and it was so fine.

He's dead now, but in my mind, he lives on, and my video collection will see to it!

Westworld is a Classic Sci-Fi flick, and according to the reviews on imDb, it was the predicessor of the "Terminator", due to the role of Yul Brenner as The Gunslinger. Go check it out.

It's a hard to find vid, but if ya can get one...it's a "Keeper"!

I've seen and assessed to some extent the climate data that had been ignored since the early 80s. And I can assure you that... THE SKY IS FALLING.

Seriously, our world is going into spasms. We haven't treated it properly. We've blown smoke in its face, poisoned it, amputated bits of it, got it drunk, introduced it to bad friends, and pretty much stomped the stability out of it.

How do I know? The Bartender next door to me is Jon. His brother DJ was a first responder to the scene (Ranch) and issued the report.

Errors in Judgment
Were hundreds of criminals given the wrong sentences because lawyers messed up a basic work sheet?

In early 2005, Emily Owens was halfway through her Ph.D. thesis in economics at the University of Maryland. Her topic: the deterrence effect of long prison sentences. She had just received data from the Maryland State Commission on Criminal Sentencing Policy on tens of thousands of cases that had appeared in the state's courts over the previous years, cases she hoped would help her close out her dissertation. But as she started working through the numbers, she came across thousands of inconsistencies and errors in the sentencing recommendations provided to judges by the commission. The errors ultimately translated into extra months and years of prison time for unlucky convicts and light sentences for lucky ones. What might have been a run of the mill economic analysis of crime and punishment turned into a shocking account of human error.

Pie-splattered comedian Soupy Sales dies at 83

DETROIT — Soupy Sales, the rubber-faced comedian whose anything-for-a-chuckle career was built on 20,000 pies to the face and 5,000 live TV appearances across a half-century of laughs, died Thursday. He was 83.

Sales died at Calvary Hospice in the Bronx, New York, said his former manager and longtime friend, Dave Usher. Sales had many health problems and entered the hospice last week, Usher said.

At the peak of his fame in the 1950s and '60s, Sales was one of the best-known faces in the nation, Usher said.

"If President Eisenhower would have walked down the street, no one would have recognized him as much as Soupy," said Usher.

Infant dies after being placed in car

By ALI HELGOTH- Staff Writer
Friday, October 23, 2009 8:16 AM PDT

ELKO — A baby died Wednesday afternoon in Montello after he slid from his infant seat and apparently suffocated against the back of a car seat.

Elko County Undersheriff Doug Gailey said Geoffry Goldsborough, the father of 5-month-old Garrett, told deputies he was working on building a house and the baby was fussy, so he put him in the car to take a nap.

Because he wasn’t going to drive anywhere, he did not strap the baby into the infant seat and did not buckle the infant seat to the car seat before he left the child and went back to continue working, Gailey said.

Sometime before Goldsborough returned to the car, from 15 to 45 minutes later, the rear-facing infant seat slid toward the front of the car and tipped, Gailey said.

The child slid down head first and apparently suffocated against the seat back, he said.

The child’s mother, Ellen, was not home when the child was placed in the car, Gailey said.

Gailey said the sheriff’s office is treating it like a crime, but no arrest has been made.

The infant’s body has been sent to Washoe County for an autopsy to confirm the cause and manner of death and it will be up to District Attorney Gary Woodbury to determine whether to pursue charges.

Gailey said it’s not necessarily wrong to allow a child to nap in the car, but it’s important to tend to the child.
